Sorry, Josh Earnest, But The Second Amendment Isn’t About Hunting

Following last week’s shooting in Charleston, White House press secretary Josh Earnest implied during his daily press briefing that Americans don’t need to own weapons that aren’t used for hunting.

“You don’t need an assault rifle to go hunting,” Earnest said. “It’s not part of your family heritage.”

SNIP-------------------------------------

For starters, I’m not sure Earnest understands what an assault rifle is. The term “assault rifle” is not a catch-all to describe any gun you think is scary; it actually has a very specific meaning. The term “assault rifle” is almost always used to describe a selective fire weapon designed for military use: namely, a firearm that is capable of fully automatic fire (one trigger pull, multiple rounds fired) as well as semi-automatic fire (one trigger pull, one round fired and another one chambered so that the gun is capable of firing again with another pull of the trigger).

An AR-15, for example, is not an “assault rile” (The AR actually stands for ArmaLite, the weapon platform’s original manufacturer). True assault rifles — those that are capable of fully automatic fire — are heavily regulated and in incredibly short supply among civilians. You cannot simply walk into a gun store and buy one. You must navigate a lengthy maze of federal regulations, undergo a federal background check, pay a hefty tax, and provide a full set of all ten fingerprints.

No, these Ivy League know-it-alls have no clue.

They think that if a gun looks black and scary it's the dreaded "Assault Rifle", and therefore is bad and for the good of the country, must be banned.

“Sorry, Josh Earnest, But The Second Amendment Isn’t About Hunting”

Judge Andrew Napolitano took nitwits like Earnest to school about the 2nd Amendments real meaning a few years back. Reader’s Digest version: It’s the last line of defense against a tyrannical, intrusive central government.

No Josh. It is about the right to shoot back. Get it? Obviously not.

If it has a long barrel it is an assault rifle to the limp wristed homos. They don’t even know what the difference between semi-automatic and automatic is most of the time. The Left is scared of guns because they’ve never fired them. They think they load themselves, get up, and shoot people on their own. Yes they’re really that stupid.

Rationality will not return until the Left is thoroughly purged from Government, Academia and the Media.

I have noticed this in many articles. The term Assault Weapon was created out of thin air. They are just rifles.

Then the liberals started using Assault Rifle to describe any rifle, as if they were confused. It is intentional.

Josh Earnest is protected by an armed security detail.

Don’t think that gives him the right to talk like those he wants to limit, and that detail DOES have assault rifles...and machine guns...

You know iI get so tired of the anti-gun rheoric, the staged shootings, the Soros and Bloomberg shasow gun grabbing groups with the names “Mom” or “Community” or even “American” in them to sell this horse$hit to the LIVs who have absolutely no clue thatbthey’re being manipulated into a defenseless position by tyrants who wantno rob them blind once they dispose of true patriots. This is their end game; we know it. We’re not stupid like the Leftist morons. I hope as a result of all this crap that more huns are sold than ever before, more gun shootings clubs and ranges are installed and handgun training classes with conservative instructors for the youth are encouraged; ones with common sense that would never let a 9 year old fire an Uzi or other automatic weapon unil they are fully proficient with single shot and semi-automatic rifles and handguns and have demonstrated sufficient aptitude to use them under strict supervision with a range instructor standing by. I wouldn’t let a kid near an automatic weapon until he was 16 and even then only with close supervision.

The 2nd Amendment simply puts into writing what God has already given me...the right to defend myself.

“They” can repeal the 2nd Amendment, burn the Constitution, pass their own anti-defense laws, but they will never take my God-given right to defend myself.

Such regulations are a gross and inexcusable violation of the Second Amendment.

Saying that a firearm is not part of your heritage, is a crock.

What about grandad’s serviceable M1, still in the footchest, along with his uniform and medals and pictures?

If the 2nd amendment was just about hunting it would be unconstitutional for the states and federal government to establish hunting seasons and to require hunting licenses....

This liberal ignorance regarding guns has been going on for decades. They do it on purpose, they only want to scare people and using disinformation is part of their play book.

If the AR-15 is designed to kill many people at one encounter, why do our police have them?

These professional liars know all to well what they are doing. Mencken said, “A demagogue is a man who says things he knows to be untrue to other men he knows to be idiots.”

But wait...with all the robot stuff being created it is just a matter of time...
