Help Apple Mail Overload Help Needed

Ive got what Apple Mail is telling me are 67K unread messages in my mail box!
Ive worked emptying stuff semi selective for a half an hour already...and am making very slow progress.
I'm hoping that one of my fellow freepers has a great method of shortening what now appears to be a project that could take me the next week to finish!

How in the world did you accumulate 64K messages? How often do you check your email?
I would mass dump all messages and start over again.

It’s an IMAP system that keeps the messages on the server. . . and those are all on the server. You may want to log onto your server and delete them there.

I read a message I had somehow misssed entirely from nearly two years ago.... from a fellow photographer in the area...minutes ago.
Id delete everything but...Id likely miss at least a few more opportune messages.

Im gonna have to bite the bullet and get this done...and then go to the server and delete the whole batch Ive marked for deletion there..

You might find
Mailstrom useful. I did the free trial, and it seemed to work pretty well and they haven't been bombarding me with pleas to buy it. Only for Gmail and Outlook, though.
