Maybe there is some evidence they wish to bring forward... Something they know is being hidden.
given the obsession gays have with their penis i suspect he was gaying-off somehow and was distracted driving, which is why he immediately lawyer-ed up.
He should have known better than to take the train.
That is standard. If you are injured in an accident caused by the negligence of an agent (the engineer) of a company (Amtrak), you file a lawsuit to seek compensation. Expect a lot to be filed by everybody aboard.
All aboard! The lawsuit train!
I don’t know whether there is anything to the allegations, but this morning I heard (for the first time) there was a possibility the driver may have raised the possibility there was a shot fired at the driver?
That may be a complete lie, but if it is true that changes things completely.
I seem to remember a city bus accident several years ago where people were jumping ON TO the bus afterwards so as to be able to sue for damages.
Or.....the shot fired could be a convenient excuse to cover for the homosexual, affirmative action engineer.
I heard that report also. Even if that's true, it doesn't explain why the train was going so fast.
That was exactly my first thought when I heard the news. Too bad it will never come up in the conversation.
I'll bet Amtrak won't be giving any more free rides to employees.
Nah, you should suck it up and go bankrupt with medical bills. I’m sure that’s what any good FReeper would do.
Many benefits do not kick in until a large deductible has been met. In my case the deductible is $5000 (or $6000, not sure). I chose my plan according to my needs and affordability. I have good prescription coverage and rarely see a doctor for an illness. But should I be hit by a Mac Truck, I am screwed. For the passengers on that train, this is their equivalent of being hit by the Mack Truck.
A perfect example of how backwards this system is. Sure, some preventative services are free, but that is not what people think of as health insurance. Health insurance is no different from auto insurance or home insurance. It is to protect us from some sort of loss.
Another income stream for attorneys who make their living chasing ambulances. Another way for litigation attorneys to drive up the costs of healthcare.
Like I said—a little off topic, but it is important to point out these issues are not compartmentalized.
“.....there was a possibility the driver may have raised the possibility there was a shot fired at the driver?”........
Any excuse is as good as another, fabricate some theory.
I was right. Those reports were lost as soon as the dems started crying about infrastructure. Then the speed if the train hit the headlines. Ruh-Roh! There goes the dems narrative.
The reports of trains being hit by objects are in the forefront again. I don't know what to make of it. This story benefits the engineer. Draw your own conclusions.
No one is talking about the speed of the train as it took the curve. It is all about something hitting the train. My personal opinion is even though any projectile hitting a moving train is serious, it is clutter when addressing the derailment.
We are left with a tragic situation with lives lost. we are watching the truth being buried by politics and lawyers.
He was deadheading not passriding. You’re still on the clock with the former. He probably works in NYC and they sent him south to work. He was headed back to base afterward.
The article said he was not working. Like I said he gets a free ride and then wants to sue his boss.
When I lived in Phila years ago that sort of thing was so common that they decided to announce a fictitious bus accident so they could arrest the hundreds of people who came forward to lie about being injured on that bus.
