The Propagandist Calling The Stereotype, "Black!"
Self | 05/13/15 | Me

Posted on 05/13/2015 6:02:50 PM PDT by xuberalles

Who is Barack Obama to lecture anyone, let alone Fox News, about "malicious" stereotypes concerning poverty? According to our "Uniter in Chief", I'm the racist equivalent of White Privilege who needlessly clings to guns and religion because I'm an ignorant Right Wing Extremist instead of an educated patriot who knows the constitutional charter of individual liberty - Checks & Balances - is the single greatest deterrence to executive unilateralism and government tyranny. Stereotypes, Mr. President? Unlike you I'm armed with cutthroat common sense and unflinching perspective: that's the catharsis of the "unreported truth" in liberal vernacular.

If I may, Mr. President, you're a shameless propagandist who lives to demonize Christian conservatives, erode traditional American values, as a means to foster animosity and conveniently deflect from the countless abuses and failures of your radical, Marxist agenda. Furthermore, you're a narcissistic sociopath who feeds off invented injustice, cultivated dependency, to satiate a juvenile lust to discredit American exceptionalism along racial and economic lines because you're bound to a failed ideology that craves the victimization mentality necessary to help you "misremember" that the systemic poverty plaguing minority cultures worldwide - specifically Africa, South America and the U.S. - is predominately due to their own apathy, irresponsibility, moral depravity, incompetence and incessant corruption, rather than from the supposed racist fallout of centuries-old European imperialism. Do I paint a progressive picture or am I being stereotypically obtuse? In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth becomes a revolutionary act!

It is a good rant but you might want to cut down on the commas.

But don’t feel bad: the comma is the most overused and least understood punctuation mark in the English language.

Okay, I can buy most overused, but least understood? I’m skeptical.

I purposely created seemingly endless, cascading sentences to illustrate the sheer degree of his hypocrisy. As a matter of proper grammar and literary flow, I would naturally choose a more pithy approach.

Not that I want to hijack the thread, but the common misunderstanding is most people translate a pause in speaking to a comma in writing.

And it is hard not to do that.

But, I leave it to you to edit your own material (comma placed for an example).

My internet foible is ending sentences in ellipses...

>>I purposely created seemingly endless, cascading sentences to illustrate the sheer degree of his hypocrisy.<<

I will spot you that as a writing style designed to mock his speaking TOTUS style (and how he does run everything together into a word melange that is almost incomprehensible).

Let's not forget *hair relaxers* are racist1

**As someone who used hair relaxers for six to seven years, I see them as another way to belittle black women. Sure, relaxers are going out of style, but many women continue to use them because there's still a stigma that African American hair is "not professional.**

NB author's name....ESTHER SHITTU

Well, the thing is, sometimes it’s good to use commas for pauses rather than just to separate clauses and that sort of thing. But other times you should trust the reader to intuit the pause without making it explicit, and I’m not sure there’s a rule for when to do which. I guess I would say that what makes commas tricky is that they’re an art as well as a science.

there’s a pop song ,melody running through my brain.....with the lyrics...Obie form Nairobi....but I cant for the life of me remember what the name of the tune was.

I think it may have been an early Beach Boys song

All those hair chemicals are not good for people. The hair extensions lead to pain and baldness and are super expensive.

It is a serious stress to live one’s life trying to undo what nature has put in place to such extremes. God did not make a mistake when he made humans with natural curly hair. I never heard anyone say that natural curly hair is “unprofessional.” As with all sorts of hair, done up right, it’s beautiful.

When I had cancer, I went bald during treatment. I had a black friend who always “fixed” her hair. One day she wanted to come visit me when I was sick and she came in minus her wig...totally bald like me. That was sweet of her. My husband decided we were beauties on the inside and the lack of hair actually made that more apparent. He’s a Romeo.

My students wore cornrows. Some were so tight, kids were uncomfortable. heyT would add beads which the kids said were torture on which to sleep. I’m not sure what the fam’s protocol was to wash the hair with cornrows..but I do recall seeing lots of lice. It was epidemic.

I’m so delighted that you are doing OK and that you have a *Romeo* to share your recovery with and watch your 6! God Bless you and keep you!
