India has issues with Socialism, Islam, a tower of babel and the Brits not having a standard gauge.
In the post colonial period, India and most of the newly independent countries in Africa and Asia adopted the socialist policies of their former European masters. The rejected capitalism. The result was that the countries developed despots, large beurocracies and chronically unhappy militaries. They did not develop the real wealth that capitalism creates, nor the social justice that ultimately depends on the existence of that wealth. The shining glaring exception was Hong Kong.
And South Korea.
They actually have states with 97% literacy.

There is a great reason for India to be poor: it’s government is huge and expensive. So expensive that it makes more sense to travel to TANZANIA (Tanzania of all places) where the economy works better.
Who is travelling to Tanzania?
