The EAS was activated because the airspace on the Eastern Seaboard had to be cleared so Air Force One could conduct an emergency mission to a golf course that is of strategic national interest. I hear the President himself is investigating!

I wasn’t home this morning, and from the article, it didn’t air in New York State. I’m surprised that it didn’t, since they pop up on my TV at all hours of the day. They do a weekly and monthly test, plus whenever there’s a weather advisory. I record all the programs I watch, and unfortunately, the damn things air even during viewing of a recorded program. I end up having to pause the program, and mute the TV as I can’t stand the abrasive alert sound.
