Congressman Luis Gutierrez (D – Illinois) clearly warned us a while ago that illegal immigrants would turn to unprecedented militancy if Barack Obama’s executive amnesty plans were foiled. We may not have seen that yet, but since the plans in question have been put on hold, Representative Gutierrez is remaining busy trying to get everyone ready for the flood of new Americans in Waiting and to ensure their smooth transition. Along these lines, he’s created a helpful toolkit which illegals can use in the unlikely event that anyone from ICE is rude enough to ask them any impertinent questions.
In an infomercial-style video released earlier this week, Gutierrez explains his toolkit’s key feature: a card designed to help illegal immigrants escape deportation. He instructs the potential beneficiaries of Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and Deferred Action for Parental Accountability (DAPA) programs to use the card to defend themselves against immigration enforcement officers, but to avoid showing it to local law enforcement if they’re detained for matters unrelated to immigration.
“Only pull [the card] out when you’re detained by an immigration official; it explains in English and Spanish that you’re eligible for DACA and DAPA,” Gutierrez says in the video. “By using this card after you’ve been arrested or detained, you can explain that [according to] the policy in place today, you should be released because you’re not a priority for deportation.”
To be clear, Congressman Gutierrez didn’t dream all of this up on his own. As we discussed earlier this year, memos have been issued to all ICE officers letting them know that illegals were to be categorized into three different priorities, with the vast majority of them being considered not worth the time to deport. But by choosing to implement a “card” for prospective detainees to flash, Gutierrez seems to be taking the game to the next level. Such a document is clearly meant to convey a sense of legitimacy to the person holding it and try to intimidate the officers into believing they’ll be in trouble if they bring in low priority criminals contrary to the wishes of the White House.
There’s an obvious flaw in this logic. There is no magic card to hold out to a border patrol officer which suddenly changes existing law. And as things stand now, you still can’t just be here illegally. True, enforcement officials may not consider you to be a high priority, but if you happen to run across them and they check your status, they can (and should) still take you in and process you for deportation. This is not a get out of jail free card and a member of Congress shouldn’t be establishing the expectation that this offers some measure of protection for criminals.

Is he a foreign agent? Sure sounds like he is. So how on earth does he collect a salary as a U.S. public servant? This needs investigation, pronto. He was elected to represent AMERICAN CITIZENS, not illegal scum.
He was elected to represent Illinois, and they (like my state of NJ) need illegals to keep someone in their housing stock, classrooms, and store aisles. Illegal aliens represent a wealth transfer from American taxpayers to high-tax, economically distressed states via Section 8 vouchers, food stamps, federal education dollars and such. “Sanctuary states” that ruined their economies with socialist policies that chased away American taxpayers and their private-sector employers aren’t going to simply shrivel up & die; they’ll operate with phony pseudo-economies to keep their public sector employees on workfare.

The far left Chicago Congressman, Democrat Luis Guttierez, was on-stage speaking at USC at an event that held in Spanish – headphones were offered to English speaking attendees.
Gutierrez is on a cross-country tour, preparing illegals for Obama's amnesty.
But a patriotic crowd took over the theater and started chanting U-S-A until Gutierrez was forced to leave the stage.
