First Lady Michelle Obama will unveil a proposal Monday that she hopes will ease tensions and work to counteract an ever growing Islamophobia gripping the nation. In an effort to strengthen relations and help build mutual trust with our two million Muslim Americans citizens, Michelle Obama is set to propose national “Hug a Muslim Day”.
The proposed new federal holiday would eliminate and replace Columbus Day, first observed as a state holiday in 1906, and became federal in 1937. From now on, every second Monday in October would be recognized and observed as national, “Hug a Muslim Day.”
The proposed new federal holiday is already drawing mixed reactions from Americans, and conservatives warn this is just another step in the Obama Administration’s pledge to “fundamentally transform” America.
Proponents of the holiday are saying The First Lady’s proposal would be a common sense measure to not only eradicate what many Americans believe to be a very insensitive and un-American holiday, and that by replacing it with a holiday promoting goodwill and acceptance of all Americans, regardless of their cultural and religious beliefs, would be a win-win for the country.
National Report sent correspondents across the country in hopes of getting a general feeling on how everyday Americans, young and old, would respond to the news of such a proposed holiday, and found throughout their travels and many interviews, Americans are not only split on the idea, but very passionate and vocal about it too.
Prudence Bradley, 19, a junior at the Stephenson College of Liberal Arts and Science in Bangor, Maine says “Christopher Columbus was a murderer and rapist of indigenous people. It’s about f*cking time this country stops glorifying that monster.” Asked if she would take part in the holiday and actually, “Hug a Muslim”, Prudence says, “Sure I would, why not?”
Tea Party Patriot and Open Carry Texas member, Bud Freeman, 62, of Red River, Texas, tells National Report, “How in God’s name are those Muslims allowed to run rough shot in this country? Hug a Muslim? Is this a joke? Replace Christo…How about national buckshot between her eye’s day? Go run that by the c*nt.”
National Report did an independent study investigating the pros and cons of hugging Muslim Americans and found some interesting and eye opening facts. Dr. Juniper Meadows, MD, a Neurologist at Delta Bravo Memorial Hospital in Torrington, Vermont says, “A hug, a pat on the back, even a friendly handshake are processed by the central nervous system in Muslims and can have a powerful impact on the Muslim psyche, making them feel happiness and acceptance.” National Report asked Dr. Meadows if she herself would support and celebrate a national Hug a Muslim Day, “Absolutely!” she said, “Hugging Muslims will encourage unity and understanding, and I think that’s very much needed in this country right now, way much more than Columbus Day, which has in my opinion, worn out its welcome.”
The general consensus is that doctors and scientists seem to agree with Dr. Meadows, however, there was one study done by Professor Cleavon Jefferson at the University of Mississippi State that showed hugging Muslims would only be beneficial if trust is involved. Professor Jefferson says, “Yeah, good luck with that. Even if one was to somehow infiltrate one of their many No-Go-Zones across this country, do you honestly think they would want a hug? Preposterous.”
National Report will review and analyze the proposal after The First Lady holds her press conference from the south lawn of The White House on Monday.
Probably satire or BS. But you should not quote SNOPES under any guise of that site being unbiased and truthful. It just isn’t so.

Why would you hug a porcupine? These people want to blow us up, enslaves us, and take our lands and are lying to us about what they’re true intentions are and Michelle Obama either knows it or is too stupid to know it.
