Walker sounds like he’s triangulating and looking for the answer he thinks the interviewer will accept. He comes across to me as a bit deceptive when he has no *need* to. Just be bold and speak the truth!!
I’ll vote for walker if it’s the general election and the choice is either walker, some “also-ran” candidates or the demoncrat. Otherwise, he’s not my first choice. Sorry.
Walker is such a bad guy he actually went back in time to make the cuts. And kick orphan puppies. Before they were even born. I read it in the NY Times.
Go to youtube and type in Scott Walker Brett Bair interview. It covers a lot.
The reason why no Republican has won 49 states again since Reagan 1984 is because those many 10s of millions of *conservatives* who turned out to vote for him that year have stayed home on election night the past 30 years, because the GOP refused to nominate a Ted Cruz(who is really Reagan reincarnated) ,
Yep, they stayed home and let Clinton be elected twice, and Obama be elected twice. If only the GOP nominated a Ted Cruz (who is really Reagan reincarnated) in those three decades then MA, NY, Maryland and CA all would have gone GOP.
But real conservatives stay home on election day because to them its either a Ted Cruz (who is really Reagan reincarnated) or a Dem, but don't worry, once election day is over they are hopping mad that the GOP WHO THEY SAY THEY DIDNT VOTE FOR refuses to shutdown the government to send a message to Obama..... they are mad I tell you.
Yep, the country that elected Obama TWICE has not grown more liberal, they have grown MORE conservative. They just refused to vote and now they demand action from the GOP who they refused to vote for,.
The other nutty thing about this narrative is that before the 2012 election the same Mark was supportive of ALL the nominees even Romney, even Romney in the primary, and told us all to vote... but now seems to say that his conservative audience who believes him on this narrative, ignored his repeated requests to vote, to vote for Romney.
Now, I knew I was in for it when the hostile critics dubbed our economic plan Reaganomics. They said we couldn't do it. But while the naysayers complained, we went to work. This is a famous quote of Reagans, because it is biting and because it is true. The plan to cut the income tax rate - in the teeth of a deficit - was sponsored by Jack Kemp and by Senator Roth in the Senate. But when Reagan, of blessed memory, came out in favor of it in 1980 the Democrats immediately began to call it Reagan-Kemp-Roth. And the rest is history, as the above quote defines it.Today inflation has fallen from more than 12 percent to 1.8 percent for the last 12 months. Interest rates are down. Mortgage rates are down. And we've seen the creation of almost 11.7 million jobs in less than the last 4 years -- more jobs than Western Europe and Japan put together have created in the past 10 years. You know, I really, though, found out our economic plan was working when they stopped calling it Reaganomics.
Whats that got to do with Simpson-Mazzoli, the amnesty bill which was passed - yes, and signed into law - during Reagans tenure? Nothing. Thats just the point. It was never a part of Reagans platform, he never ran on it, and he certainly never put any of his political capital behind it. And the Democrats - certainly including Senator Mazzoli - never fought it. It was something Reagan acquiesced in, but it was not his bill. He did NOT get it done, certainly not in the lawless Barak Hussein Obama sense.
Excuse if I just don't take your word.
Reagan in 1984 debate:
“I believe in the idea of amnesty for those who have put down roots and lived here, even though sometime back they may have entered illegally,”
1984 - Ronald Reagan on Amnesty (vid clip from debate)
acquiesced in ????
In a Nov. 13, 1985, interview with the Spanish International Network, Reagan called for a path to permanent residency for undocumented immigrants to be added to the immigration overhaul being considered in Congress.
“For one, we very much need in any immigration bill — we need protection for people who are in this country and who have not become citizens, for example, that they are protected and legitimized and given permanent residency here. And we want to see some things of that kind added to the immigration bill.”
Off topic, but out of curiosity, in your opinion what is Mark Levin's agenda? I have my own opinion about it, of course.
I worked on both Reagan campaigns, and later in his Century City office (1991). REAGAN REGRETTED THE HELL OUT OF THAT AMNESTY.
He made several mistakes in office, but that was not the whole story. Go back and read the bill. If it had been followed, we wouldn’t have the problem, ne CURSE we have now.
Neither party enforced ANY of that document.
The video of him doesn't lie though.
He clearly said he is for ‘amnesty’ and he uses that exact word (1984 debate with Mondale.)
He didn't say he was against it but would swallow it if A,B and C happens. He didn't try to dodge the question like the GOP does today.
Mark Levin wont play that clip on his radio show.
” He clearly said he is for amnesty and he uses that exact word (1984 debate with Mondale.)”
In 1984, very few people understood how destructive that amnesty would cause. I did, because I worked in downtown Los Angeles. As I said, if that bill had been enforced, we would have no major problem like we now do. You might want to re-read it.
As Obama has illustrated enforcement , or lack of, comes from the executive, not the congress.
Perry was on Kelly tonight and she asked him point blank about deportation (”What would a POTUS Perry do with them?”), and he tried to dodge it with ‘enforcement’ but she persisted and he said that no one will kick them out.
Better she had CA Dem Luis Gutiérrez saying that Hispanics will uprise over the court decision to kick pubs out.
She kept on grilling him about how Obama said so many times that the action he took was unlawful, and if why he(Luis) didn't call Obama a racist for that, and Gutiérrez refused to answer her question, Finally she says, ‘You will have plenty of time on the house floor for that speech, I have a commercial break to go to’
Boom!
True. The enforcement portion was never followed.
Just like how spending cuts never take place either.
Politics is a shell game with life and death consequences.
This ‘my favorite Republican was twicked by Dems’ excuse line has been way overused.
Its like Obama claiming that he heard about all his admins embarrassing misdeeds on the news.
That excuse inadvertently supports the Dem claim that GOP POTUSs , like Reagan , are dumb. We gotta do better...that argument never helped.
Not an excuse, just demonstrating the shell game at work.
Everything they pass pretty much is that. Its the nature of the system, and game,
You’re right.
And while most bills are crap with fancy icing hiding the real contents the POTUSs get elected by convincing voters that they can and will work with the other side to ‘get things done’ and ‘fix things’
The most recent obvious : Obama ran on that, even though it was a big lie.
There is the paradox and the uphill almost impossible challenge. To get things done we want and beat them.
Those on *our side* whose plan is to lose elections to Dems till the violent revolution starts, while claiming they know how to win are leading others to a dead end.
There is no easy answer nor any human savior.
“There is no easy answer nor any human savior.”
There are both. Unfortunately, the republic has been turned into a whorehouse.
True patriots know what needs to be done.
