NRA Ignoring Immigration Threat To Gun Rights
Bluegrass Bruce ^ | January 28, 2015 | Bruce P

Mitch McConnell’s surrender on immigration reform last week could have major consequences for Second Amendment rights.

Deportation amnesty is one of the biggest threats to gun rights because it will add millions of anti-gun voters to the electorate in one fell swoop.

The vast majority of illegal aliens are Hispanics, and Hispanics are one of the most anti-gun demographics in the United States. According to the Pew Research Center, 62% of Hispanics prefer expanding gun control to percent gun rights, compared to 39% of white voters.

Gun Owners of America estimates that amnesty could add more than 8 million anti-gun voters to the electorate. The consequences of this would be nothing short of devastating. GOA explained:

“This is exactly what happened to California — which was once a Red State,” GOA explained in a 2014 alert. “Because of the Simpson-Mazzoli amnesty bill of 1986, the state lurched violently to the left and now can’t pass gun control restrictions fast enough.”

Yet GOA seems to be the only gun group drawing attention to the issue. As David Codrea noted in a series of columns last year, the NRA avoids addressing the immigration issue like the plague.

Now, with Obama’s amnesty order on the verge of becoming law, the NRA is doing a major disservice to its members by failing to acknowledge amnesty for what it is -— a grave threat to gun rights.

This why the DC establishment wants Jen to run. And the democrats don’t care. The democrats know that with Jen they will get amnesty and with that, millions of new democrat voters in Texas. A democrat reign forever even if Hillary loses. Game over, stick a fork in the USA.

***the Simpson-Mazzoli amnesty bill of 1986, the state lurched violently to the left and now can’t pass gun control restrictions fast enough.”***

And to think, California voters REJECTED Prop 15 to ban the sale of handguns back in 1982.

Since that day, the politicians have been working overtime to circumvent the will of the voters, one nibble at a time.

I’m led to believe that the Dem are planning their moves to ‘transform’ the nation in to a Socialist ‘utopia’ 3- 4 move ahead.

And the GOPe hasn’t a clue.

Hispanics are an overwhelmingly pro-abortion/anti-gun vote for the democrats.

That is why JFK wanted to end Protestant immigration, which led to the 1965 Immigration Act, which led to the mess we are in.

There are no gun rights in Mexico-

It doesn`t make any sense to say that people denied the right to defend themselves would want the same denial of rights after illegally/or legally coming to another country-

All my Mexican and Chicano neighbors in California had illegal guns brought across the border which they would always shoot up in the air on New Year`s Eve.

This report is full of crap. The hispanics aren`t gonna tell an interviewer that they have guns brought in from Mexico.

These interviewers are insane and really really stupid people.

I know coz I did govt security for one of the big cities there, riding around with them, immigration officers and FBI people in the barrios looking for Mexican drug guys. The orders were to not bother the latinos about their guns coz it would start a war in the barrio.

Orders were to only go after the known big-time Mexican dealers.

Do not believe this liberal crap of so-called POLLS. Practically all the latins/illegals in California are armed to the teeth.

-—the NRA remains a one -issue organization for very good reasons-—once one starts getting into all the other available issues , it dilutes what should be the main effort-—

Just because some possess firearms, doesn’t mean they won’t try to deny that right to others.

Leftists-Socialists aren’t anti-gun, they are anti-someone else having a gun.

That’s a good strategy except when the other side wants to Cheat at the game and do an end run around the Bill of Rights.

While I don’t doubt the accuracy of the facts about illegals voting again’st gun rights I don’t really care as the 2nd amendment is not up for voting discussion.

At some point 90 million gun owners are going to say enough. They will never take the guns here but they may well start CWII over it. And at some point down the communist trail it may not be such a bad thing.

Mexico doesn’t have a gun ownership culture among law-abiding civilians, to most Mexicans, guns are either for gangsters or for Federales. These cultural norms will be reflected in their voting patterns on the issue.

There just ain`t no Leftists-Socialists in the barrio- They are very few and live elsewhere.

You been readin` way too many books.

My wife is Mexican legal -Her mother who was 65 carried a pistol with her since she was a teenager from Mexico and in California after she got married. She had it in her house till she passed away. She was known as Rosa Pistola.

All the sheriff`s deputies and cops knew she was armed. They were her friends and never bothered her.

I know what I am talkin' about

and you, Kind Sir, apparently do not.

Was it JFK? He was dead in 1965 & his brother Teddy the Swimmer rammed through the Immigration Act which LBJ signed.

I recall Kennedy & LBJ assuring us that it would not transform America’s ethnic makeup. Yeah, right.

European immigration was mostly cut off in 1924, IIRC.

JFK anti-Protestant? Sounds like a Northern Ireland thing IMO.

PSSST- illegals CAN`T VOTE in California and never have neither -

It is the influx of moonbat rich liberals from the east into California that is doing this anti-gun crap.

Why then do border cities form a blue band in otherwise red state Texas? Brownsville, Laredo, El Paso all vote for Democrats to keep the welfare checks and food stamps coming. If the barrios vote Republican, someone must be miscounting the votes.

Yes it was JFK who had devoted his political life to the cause of replacing the American voters.

When JFK ran for president, the democrats had only won the Protestant vote twice, in 1932, and 1936, that was it, and they had never lost the Catholic vote, except possibly in 1956, as some polling indicates.

The democrats knew that the original Americans would not vote democrat, and so they needed to replace them.

“However, if there is one man who can take the most credit for the 1965 act, it is John F. Kennedy. Kennedy seems to have inherited the resentment his father Joseph felt as an outsider in Boston’s WASP aristocracy. He voted against the McCarran-Walter Act of 1952, and supported various refugee acts throughout the 1950s.

In 1958 he wrote a book, A Nation of Immigrants, which attacked the quota system as illogical and without purpose, and the book served as Kennedy’s blueprint for immigration reform after he became president in 1960.
In the summer of 1963, Kennedy sent Congress a proposal calling for the elimination of the national origins quota system. He wanted immigrants admitted on the basis of family reunification and needed skills, without regard to national origin.

After his assassination in November, his brother Robert took up the cause of immigration reform, calling it JFK’s legacy. In the forward to a revised edition of A Nation of Immigrants, issued in 1964 to gain support for the new law, he wrote, “I know of no cause which President Kennedy championed more warmly than the improvement of our immigration policies.” Sold as a memorial to JFK, there was very little opposition to what became known as the Immigration Act of 1965.”

Yet another believer in the myth of the redemptive Hispanic.

I keep hearing rhetoric from the pro-amnesty crowd about how conservative, family-oriented, and industrious Mexicans are, and how they will do wonders for American society. You'd think that their country would be a paradise if that were true, and their communities in the USA would be the most affluent and successful rather than the most impoverished and run down. You'd also think that they'd vote for conservative candidates rather than supporting welfare state policies that turn the border areas of red states blue.

Sorry but lotsa Mexicans in Mexico are armed to the teeth- they just don tell no Federalis-

They are not stupid.

My 18 year old niece from California [whose parents were Mexicans from Mexico legal naturalized] went to see her relatives in Guanajuato all by herself.

All her relatives in Guanjuato had arms stashed always hidden from the Federalis coz they all remember the civil wars there and are always ready for the next one...

Her relatives there don pay no attention to the gun laws there coz they know that during the last civil war there, that`s what saved them, bullets, not paper.

One should study Mexican history in the 20th century to really know how the people are still armed there from 1700`s till now even during wars and civils wars there for hundreds of years.

They just don broadcast it all over the place.
