Shutdown Clown

Republican Party's leaders perform no better than matriculants of a clown school, McConnell chief among them. Engender a despair born of surviving one Establishment Clown after another, since 1988

Mitch McConnell is the Shutdown Clown in the Establishment’s growing circus of Clowns—all performing under a “big tent.”

Merely one day after being elected to the Senate, McConnell relentlessly declared, and was dutifully recorded to say, “We’re not going to be shutting down the government or defaulting on the national debt.” McConnell spoke these exact words in his very first news conference. The Leftists in the room recognized what was really occurring.

McConnell, made up as the “stupid” clown of the circus, was understood to have just stepped in a pail of horse droppings, and unable to extricate himself. When McConnell reiterated his hilarious dedication to unilateral surrender, “let me be perfectly clear…” the Leftists were hard-pressed to contain either their laughter or scorn. A few in the back of the media event giggled riotously, astonished faces reflecting McConnell’s astonishing proclamation.

Someone remind me again why it was so imperative that we vote Republican on NOV 4.

The new Congress hasn’t even been sworn in, and already the GOP “leaders” are surrendering.

Sometimes I think it’s a sin; when I feel like I’m wining when I’m losing again...Gordon Lightfoot

Duped Again, and what’s sad we knew it, but hey next time it will be different, won’t you say you love me one more time!

I think I despise the moderate Republicans who vote these cowardly, spineless wastes of space into office more than I despise the commies. At least the commies have principles!

It’s like Walter said in “The Big Lebowski”, contrasting Nazism with Nihilism:

“Say what you will about the tenets of National Socialism, Dude. At least it’s an ethos.”

How many times during previous government shutdowns has the nation defaulted on debt payments, Mitch?

Your lies ain’t fooling anyone.

The Reps and Senators we thought would fight for us, Ted Cruz, for instance surrendered right out of the box by voting for Boehner and McCarthy and McConnell. Conservatives will be denied committee appointments and will be kicked off committees they are already on for a start.McConnell et al are the DNC’s agents charged with herding and sidelining the Republicans who still think they belong to some sort of opposition paty. Cruz has showed his ambition to become a Democrat agent like the others by voting dutifully for them. Congress has ceased to exist as an arm of Government and will not be resurrected. The guys we elect get to Washington and discover that their futures are to be showered with money so long as they are subservient to the Democrat rulers, even if they were to lose their next elections..

Rand Paul On Shutdown: "Even Though It Appeared I Was Participating In It, It Was A Dumb Idea"
I said throughout the whole battle that shutting down the government was a dumb idea. Even though it did appear as if I was participating in it, I said it was a dumb idea. And the reason I voted for it, though, is that it's a conundrum. Here's the conundrum. We have a $17 trillion debt and people at home tell me you can't give the president a blank check. We just can't keep raising the debt ceiling without conditions. So unconditionally raising the debt ceiling, nobody at home wants me to vote for that and I can't vote for that. But the conundrum is if I don't we do approach these deadlines. So there is an impasse. In 2011, though, we had this impasse and the president did negotiate. We got the sequester. If we were to extend the sequester from discretionary spending to all the entitlements we would actually fix our problem within a few years.
