The AAR iTunes podcasts are usually available the following Monday

Are you sad because the GunTalk radio show with the awesome Tom Gresham ended it's last few minutes, and you have to wait a week for another firearms-related radio show to appear so you can listen?

Do you crave to hear from the experts across the nation about our current problems regarding twisted politicians inflicting their anti-gun agendas on free Americans?

Do you fear the way certain government groups like the ATF changing the rules in the middle of the game -making law abiding gun owners into felons overnight?

Do you enjoy going out in your yard on a weekend to grill up some juicy steaks...with a Smith and Wesson M&P Shield on your hip?

Well, pull up a chair. You're in for a treat!

Howdy back.

I found a barrel for my AR build:

Going to order it next payday.

Eighteen inch. The barrel is ready for suppression, too.

Yeah, but I’m wondering if they make a rail-mounted face shield. My suppressed XDm .45 blows a LOT of crap into my face when I shoot it.

Are there different kinds of suppressors? One’s that don’t blow back?

Well, the SilencerCo Osprey that I have has a spring-loaded piston in it that threads to the barrel.
When I fire the weapon, the spring piston lurches the Osprey forward -I believe to assist with pressure relief.
SilencerCo also makes a fixed barrel spacer that (I think) replaces the spring. That would prevent the lurching and keep more of the gasses in the Osprey and firing chamber.

I've emailed SilencerCo and asked them, but haven't heard back yet.
