Charles Barkley: ‘Unintelligent’ Blacks ‘Brainwashed’ To Keep Successful Black Men Down
The Daily Caller ^ | 10/25/14 | Alex Griswold

NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley spoke candidly about the problems facing the black community when appearing on a Philadelphia radio station, accusing “unintelligent,” “brainwashed” African-Americans of keeping successful ones down.

While appearing on “Afternoons with Anthony Gargano and Rob Ellis,” Barkley was asked about a rumor that Seattle Seahawks QB Russell Wilson was getting criticism from his black teammates for not being, quote, “black enough.”

Barkley went on a long monologue on the subject: ”Unfortunately, as I tell my white friends, we as black people, we’re never going to be successful, not because of you white people, but because of other black people. When you’re black, you have to deal with so much crap in your life from other black people. It’s a dirty, dark secret; I’m glad it’s coming out.

Sounds like the old Barkley, the Republican, friend of Rush Barkley.

Welcome back, Charles.

The same is true in any dependent society.

I remember when Charles talked about running for Governor of Alabama, as a Republican. I’m sure he took a lot of crap from the black Community, and he did give in to the dark side.

Hopefully he wised up for good.

Unfortunately he needs to talk about this more. He needs to urge blacks to make this issue a centerpiece of their narrative about race.

UNLESS blacks talk about it, it will never get addressed and we will have a permanant underclass that is ANGRY!

He was trapped in Liberalville for awhile. Maybe he’s snapping out of it.

The same is true in any dependent society.

Except what Barkley is saying is RACIST!

And therefore illegitimate!

Only my personal experience, but -

Many, many times on the subway and on the streets I would hear black women go off on their man (husband, boyfriend, neighbor) telling them to stop blaming the white man for their difficulties in life. They would say things like ‘nobody can keep you down but you’, and similar such things.

From what I’ve seen in my own small world, the black women are the ones who will change the culture, if anything. Certainly not black men like Al and Jesse.

I used to think Charles has a chance to be a beacon to blacks. Events since then have disappointed me about his prospects.

...is a treasure.

He will say the things that need saying.

More blacks need to listen.

It’s true, but the sad thing is, is that Barkley had to front as a House Negro so his ghetto pass won’t get revoked. But the guy nails it on the problems facing blacks

I suspect he was told in no uncertain terms that if he wanted his nice gig on TBS, he had to toe the party line.

But now, he’s big enough that he can say pretty much anything he wants.

It wasn’t fences or guards that kept blacks on the plantations. It was ignorance and fear just like today.

He wasn’t trapped, he just had to toe the line to make a living.
