Harry Reid email: "Chances Democrats Win the Senate: 33%"

Chances Democrats Win the Senate: 33% -- Daily Kos, 9/29/14 Dear Friend,

Put another way -- as is stands today, Koch-backed Republicans have a 66% chance of taking control of the U.S. Senate.

We’ve got a month to keep control of the Senate. Let’s make sure we’re fighting as hard as we possibly can.

We need $42,OOO this month to keep our grassroots efforts going. Can you contribute $5?

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Express Donate: $5

Express Donate: $10

Express Donate: $25

Or donate another amount.

The obstruction of the past few years will pale in comparison to all the right-wing, Koch-backed ideas that could pass if Republicans seize control.

Medicare could get turned into a voucher system. Social Security could be privatized. There’s almost no chance that any progress will be made on climate change, or the minimum wage, or women’s access to health care.

As long as I am in the Senate, I will fight against the Kochs, the Tea Party, and anyone else that tries to put the special interest agenda above Nevada families. But right now, I need your help.

The election is only 25 days away -- and we cannot afford to let up in our efforts to keep the Senate in Democratic hands. Give $5 or whatever you can toward our $42,OOO goal.

Let’s keep up the good work.

Harry Reid

I don't know how, but I recently started receiving emails from Harry Reid regarding the elections in November.

He is sounding more and more desperate all the time.

I thought I would start passing them along in case anyone is interested.

Note the Kock Brothers reference. I was going to ask to be removed from this email list but I decide its funnier to see him in panic. I hope they investigate HIM and jail him for corruption if the GOP takes over the senate.

The beautiful thing that will happen if the Republics DO win the Senate...it will only take a simple majority to pass legislation.

Thank you Reid, now choke on it.

Maybe if there were an honest media in America, those chances might hit 5%.

‘Medicare could get turned into a voucher system. Social Security could be privatized. There’s almost no chance that any progress will be made on climate change, or the minimum wage, or women’s access to health care.’

What’s missing from this list.

Immigration.

Even in an email to the fundraising Dem base, immigration is toxic, and they know it.

Does the GOP stand for anything other than amnesty, the only issue they’ve consistently pushed for the last 13 years?

They don't need the money, they need the support. By investing $5 in the cause you are then more likely to vote and support the cause in which you are invested.

I was shocked to see how old he is. He was born in 1939 so he is 75. I thought he was in his early 60s. I guess boxing is good for you. He should retire and do it full time again.

Watch for the Republicans to unilaterally restore the filibuster rules, thereby, once again hamstringing themselves. It's as regular as the daffodils coming up every spring.

We need to organize a ZOMBIE watch for the old geezers that run our government.

For example:

I sure Lois Capps (76)democrat CA, is a nice person, but she is ready for the zombie watch, as are many other Government officials. Jerry Brown 76, CA retiring reps Vic Fazio 71 and Ronald Dellum 78 (good). The US Senate has 15 members that are 74 years and older.i.e., Feinstein 81 , Reid 74 and McCain 78. And.the US Congress is not any better i.e., Ralph Hall at 91 and Charlie Rangel 84. Yes, all of them are eligible for the Zombie watch!

I think the Senate rules change was only for judicial nominees, and that the change was only in effect for this Congress...meaning the old Senate rules return in January 2015.

Republicans need more than a majority. They need a super majority plus several to compensate for a few rinos.
Being leader of the Senate is great for setting the agenda, committees, etc, but the dims are going to push to the point than a super majority is needed.
And since they ‘nuked’ the repubs, turn about is fair play. Bet they scream like....stuck pigs too.
