Impact of EPAs Regulatory Assault on Power Plants: New Regulations to Take More than 72 GW of Electricity Generation Offline and the Plant Closing Announcements Keep Coming

But ..but what about all those TESLAS and PRIUSES.???
wheres the infrastructure to make electric cars SUSTAINABLE??
I heard somebody on the radio talking about how there will be charging stations every couple hundred miles and that we’ll be able to plug in-get ready for it-FOR FREEEEE!
Dummy. Somebody’s got to pay for this. Probably us taxpayers.
I’ll let you know if a couple of years how the tesla op is going in Reno. Another firm is working on a plant to process lithium from a large (5th in the world) deposit of material here in NV near the proposed/approved/soon under construction tesla battery plant. Enough production to accommodate 500,000 teslas. Uh, if they can sell 500,000 teslas. Subsidies? Hmmmmmm. Tax credits? Hmmmmmm.
“In other words, EPA is shutting down enough generating capacity to power every home in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana.”
There is no replacement any time soon for this power grid loss.
Rolling brownouts, or total regional winter blackouts, will become the norm;
Electric car owners will ave to chose between charging the car or keeping the lights on;
Hospitals will have to chose between keeping drugs refrigerated or the lights on during surgery;
Charging personal computers and gadgets will pass into history;
The list goes on ...
When I was a boy the argument was anthracite or bituminous
Ask a 30 something which they would chose and the answer would be, “Say what?”
40 years form now, tell a 30 something that when you were a boy cell phones were almost a foot long and weighed pounds, and the answer will be, “What’s a cell phone?”
“When I was a boy the argument was anthracite or bituminous
Ask a 30 something which they would chose and the answer would be, Say what?”
Most of them would probably choose bi-sexual. :>} They wouldn’t hear past “bi-”.
From the article;

Nevada,
Arizona,

Arkansas,
Louisiana.
All true and those smart meters that have been installed in all of our houses? Well at some point comrade you will be allotted so many KW’s per month and when you max out no more electricity for you til the first of the month. Or even better we will all be rationed to 12 hours of electricity per day. After that its lights out.
Bottom line if you are not preparing to install some type of off grid alternative electrical system prepare to eat your peas.
Now our enemies send wave after wave of EPA drones dropping their bureaucratic neutron bombs on our power plants to do the same thing to US.
I said to that undertaker
Undertaker please drive slow
For this lady you are carrying
Lord, I hate to see here go
Will the circle be unbroken...
Subsidies?.....BINGO!...... Tax credits?... BINGO!
500K Teslas? in this economy??
Doubtlless...Free Lunches will be served at the Charging Stations...
“... prepare to eat your peas.”
That’s my sister you are thnking about. I love peas ...
Ignoring the global warming scare about CO2, a new coal-fired plant, which removes all emissions harmful to health, has a lower cost per KWH of output than a new gas-fired plant. There is therefore no rationale for the proposed EPA regulations. If promulgated, they should be revoked by a future Republican administration.
A coal-fired plants CO2 emissions are approximately double that of a gas-fired plant. CO2 Sequestration/capture is very expensive. A modern coal plant removes the harmful gases and particulates from the flue gas: N2, H2O, O2, NOx, SOx and fly ash. CO2 sequestration/capture has no environmental value and no economic value, other than the use of CO2 for petroleum extraction.
Yeah, well what about the use of “See Uh O 2” for fizzin’ up pepsi and coke etc.? :>}
On a more serious note, the word rational/e is non-existent when it comes to the epa. If they can get away with “it” they will. “Congress? We don’t need no steenkin’ congress.”
