40 painful seconds of Alison Lundergan Grimes refusing to say whether she voted for President Obama
The Washington Post ^ | October 9, 2014 | Philip Bump

Alison Lundergan Grimes (D), who is trying to unseat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) this fall, appeared before the Louisville Courier-Journal editorial board on Thursday to make her pitch for their endorsement. The life-long Democrat, whose father represented Kentucky for the party in the state House and who herself has been on the ballot in the state on the Democratic ticket, was asked a simple question. Did she vote for President Obama in 2008 and 2012?

And she didn't answer. Repeatedly.........

.... there was no reason to do this. Grimes is fairly new on the national scene, but she's not new enough not to know how to answer this fairly simply. "Yes, I voted for him," you say, "but I've been disappointed by a lot of the things he's done, particularly on COAL and JOBS and GUNS" or whatever. It's simple. And then you can say, "but I backed Hillary in the primary" and so on and so on. 2008 was a landmark year, a wave for Democrats, when Obama's approval was sky-high. Of course she voted for him! Dodging the question looks like she's trying to hide her position, which is never the face you want to show -- particularly when conservatives are accusing her of hiding her positions on other things.

What happens in the primary period of 2016, as some idiot reporter asks the same question. Each Democratic candidate has to defend his choice of 2008 and 2012? Each will say they wish they could have voted for Hillary....and even Hillary saying that she did a write-in vote for herself in 2008 and 2012?

You’d think this is the kind of BS America is tired of, but we’ll see how much (or how little) the female voter hates this BS when the opponent is male.

particularly when conservatives are accusing her of hiding her positions on other things.

Conservatives are accusing her?

It's her own aides who said so, repeatedly.

But I guess that's the meme that the JournoList has settled on to protect her - that these are just conservative accusations - because LIV's will never actually see the videos.

I bet it would take McConnell just as long to say he didn’t vote for Obola!
Of course, anyone who watch C-Span watched McConnell vote for Obola over and over again, every time it mattered.

It’s interesting. She said that she opposes the votes that Sen. McConnell cast. However, those votes opposed Obama’s policies. That would mean that Grimes supports Obama’s policies. Yet, she won’t say whether she supports Obama.

You can’t have it both ways!

She’s not bad looking, but her head is empty.

But don’t look at her face, watch her twiddling her thumbs.

So your astute advice to Kentucky voters is what?

Stay home?

Vote for grimes and send those rat bastard gope a message?

Keep dirty harry as the senate majority leader?

You purists need to get over the fact that not all pubbies are as pure and clean as you all are.

It must be nice to never make mistakes.

Amen. Aside from some short lived pleasure, the purists need to explain all the positive things that will come from having Grimes as Senator for THE NEXT SIX YEARS.

Many years ago I ran a suicide campaign for school committee in the moonbat town that I grew up in.

At every candidates night, I asked a simple question. "Why won't these candidates allow you to choose your child's school?"

A simple question can go a long way.

I became a pariah, which wasn't fun, but it was kinda fun, too. Plus, many people approached me afterwards offering their support, saying that they had learned a lot about the history of American schooling. Looking back, I'm very proud of having done it.

I am so sick of seeing her pathetic ad with her dying father. I think it is on every TV news program every commercial break. It is totally ineffective. We all have loved ones who have died. What makes her so special?

She is a complete moron.

Mitch may be a RINO, but Grimes is just insufferable.

I have no respect for McConnell but I'll give him this: he's very deliberate. He doesn't make mistakes.

I'll never stay home from an election but because of his deceptions and betrayals he's the greater of the evils. I may vote for Patterson or write in a name.

After he gets past this election, he's going to continue to boldly **** the Tea Party, Kentucky and the United States just has he has done his entire carreer.
