This not a hard one to answer. Once again we have lost another young, black man at the hands of a police officer. I really tried to find the best way to write this without seeming so over-the-top, emotional or making it an issue of race. Well as you can see that was not possible.
Yes it’s probably over-the-top, but so are the numbers of our black men dying at the hands of police officers. Yes I am emotional because when I see the Michael Brown and the Trayvon Martin I also see my own 14 year old son.
I try not to be the type to jump on the band wagon, simply because everyone else does. Emotions drive us to make decisions based purely offmichael-brown-ferguson-missouri-2014 of our intense feelings and not facts. Well I sat back watching and waiting for the full story of Michael Brown to unfold.
When I saw the first photos of Michael Brown my heart broke into. As I viewed only for a few seconds his lifeless body left uncovered in the street for hours, broke into. Emotions of the Zimmerman verdict replayed in my mind. Visions of my fourteen year old son with the build of a grown man, but the baby face and smile of a kid played havoc within my soul. Images of Emmett Till joined the image of Michael Brown in the whirlwind I was experiencing.
Some say this is not about race. Well I’m sorry it is. How many white mothers have to tell their child how to deal with police officers? How many white mothers are instructing their boys how to act and to react if pulled over by the police?
Don’t reach for your pockets. Be respectful. Don’t move too quickly. Don’t run. How many white women have had this conversation with their sons? Most likely not many since my black, young son has a greater chance of being profiled, harassed or even killed by some members of law enforcement. I have to worry about his possible encounters with the police and how he should conduct himself if approached. ~ Worries of A Black Woman
I know all police are not bad officers because I know some personally. I know that all of our children are not angels. However, all life is precious.
I don’t know the whole story yet. But I do know this, down by a police officer; an unarmed young, black man has been gunned down six times resulting in this deadly outcome. The skin they are in makes them a target to some that feel they rule the world simply because they have a badge and a gun.
Why should I have the ticking reminder in my head that every 28 hours someone with a darker hue may get gunned down by law enforcement? I take it personally when a wanna-be-cop, such as Zimmerman feels that he can play jury and judge then choose to gun down our babies.
When I lay my head down at night I go to sleep with rioting, looting and protests playing across the television screen. When the sun rises I awake to the craziness still in my mind as it’s rehashed over and over during the morning news.
The pain that Michael Brown’s mother is experiencing and her plea for justice and peace are still heavy on my heart and will be for a longtime. When I see images of her son’s lifeless body I can’t help, but to think of my own son, his father, his brothers, his cousins, his uncles, his friends and so many other black men. This is why I take the death of Michal Brown, Trayvon Martin, Sean Bell and so countless others so personally.
I really tried to find the best way to write this without seeming so over-the-top, emotional or making it an issue of race. Well as you can see that was not possible. …False. It was utterly possible, but the author simply did not want to out of pure immaturity, after being fed a diet of propaganda.
After he did his checks, he let me go. No problem.
Add to the massive list of don'ts that were violated by Michael Brown and what do you get from a shopkeeper, a policeman, a citizen, a stranger?

So if that’s that statistic, what is the statistic for those of a darker hue being gunned down by some other random person of a darker hue?
And how about those of a lighter hue being gunned down by those of a darker hue, or heck yeah LEOs?
Every year thousands, tens of thousands (I suppose) people are killed, but once in a blue moon some unarmed black guy gets killed by a non-black guy, then the world must come to a stop and cry to the heavens: WHY?
I’m sorry for the families of Trayvon Martin and Michael Brown, but really it’s quite offensive.

How many young black men are killed by the police each year vs. the number killed by other black men each year?

I had this conversation with my son AND my daughter when they got their drivers license. Just common sense.
Really? Probably every day and that's why so many white teens/young men are not shot. They understand the simple order of "stand still and raise your hands". It's the black mothers in the ghettoes without their men to instill law and order in their male and now female children who are failing. Think Chicago, Detroit, Philly, St. Louis, DC etc, etc.
And why is that the trigger-happy police fire more on black men then whites? Why is that? Could it possibly be because black youths/men think they are invincible or just don't care because of their shitty upbringing and are more inclined to make a name for themselves? Why is such a huge percentage of our population in the prison system disproportionate to the black population in the USA?
Wanna talk about last July 4th killings of black on black in Detroit, Chicago, and other inner cities? You really think that is because of whitey trying to keep them down? You keep thinking that and research the FBI stats and get back to me. IT'S BLACK AGAINST BLACK! for no other reason then they haven't been taught not to hate each other.
Lady, your babies are dying in their beds because you and others won't stop the cycle of gang murders. I don't know, but I will take a wild a$$ guess and say it is about a thousand to one. They are killed by other blacks, so there is no one left to speak for them. Jesse and Al are never there, because they won't make any money.

Dear Eleanie, have you talked with the mother of Michael Brown to discuss where she went wrong in her parenting skills? Have you been able to find the father of Michael Brown to discuss why he was not present in his son’s life to teach him how to be a productive citizen in society? NO? I didn’t think so.

Darlin’, you and your son will be fine as long as he doesn’t bum rush and fracture the eye socket of an armed man(cop in this case) after robbing and roughing up a convenience store clerk.
Ignoring the facts in this case and the trayvon case is more than ignorance, it’s inflammatory and borders on the criminal. Yelling fire in a crowded and not burning theater.
I think the key here is...if you dope up really good....and top off that doping with some PCP....you will do some really stupid stuff that will invite anyone (not just the cops) to interpret your actions as potentially hostile and shoot you to defend themselves or their family.
You can go through the daily news each day and find throughout the fifty states....at least twenty-five episodes where the “whacko” involved in some assault or shot-dead by the cops....ought to be drug tested and confirmed to be on something of an extreme nature. It says volumes about what we’ve accepted as “normal” and why you have to carry some kind of weapon in your car when you travel.

Did this woman perhaps write this article on a smartphone with autocorrect? I'm guessing that she meant to write: "My heart broke in two."
As as for the need for Black mothers to have "the Talk" with their sons about how to behave when stopped by Law Enforcement Authorities: Perhaps that would be a topic best explained by the fathers.
