PRESCOTT - The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations team, along with the YCSO, arrested 14 people allegedly in the US illegally during the week of July 28, according to Yavapai County Sheriff Scott Mascher.
ICE took them to the Camp Verde jail for processing and holding before being transferred to a federal facility, Mascher said, adding that the arrests took place at several locations in the county.
The Camp Verde jail is one of only two designated county facilities in Arizona for holding ICE prisoners, Mascher said. It's part of the 287(g) program, which allows state or local law enforcement to enter into a partnership agreement with ICE to incarcerate that agency's suspects.
Arrested were 14 people, including five who had been previously deported, Mascher said.
"These individuals had been identified as more of a high-risk criminal element," he said, "so what we've been doing is identifying these individuals with ICE and then doing roundups."
They had prior arrests or convictions for sexual conduct with a minor; aggravated assault; assault; child abuse; extreme and multiple DUIs; domestic violence, criminal impersonation; sale of narcotic drugs; grand theft; forgery; and illegal re-entry into the U.S. after deportation, a YCSO press release release said.

In which case only one phrase will be appropriate:
hit the gas.
Woo, 14, that will leave a mark.
Most likely they will be released on their own recognizance before this thread is dead.
I know, I it must be; I am being sarcastic...but I’m not!
