I think Romney’s base is the republican crony capitalists who expect to profit more from a GOP version of big government liberalism than from the corrupt Democrat ersion. Throw in those who understand how much they have been harmed by Obama’s progressive big government liberalism and don’t realize how similar Romney’s slower march to big government really is, and Romney might get 49% of the vote in 2016.

“Sue me.”

Sorry, I don’t think Mitt had much fire about the job in 2012, so why should he be a winner in 2016? I’m not sure he wants the job all that much. The rumors that started after the election that he wasn’t all that excited once the campaign got going might have been disinformation, but they rang true.

When he got blindsided by a basically lying Candy Crowley, he curled up. Not only during the debate—when its understandable that he might not want to compound an error—but also afterward, when he never blasted Crowley publicly. He just kinda lay down and took it, which gave the impression that Obama had recovered from the first debate and taken the second. In debates, impressions count for a lot.

Rick Perry, perhaps, yes. It’s just impossible for me to shake that horrible performance in the primary debate last time when he couldn’t remember what agencies he supposedly wanted to get rid of.

You think it’s bad now? Wait until the Supreme Court swings lopsided left. I’ll be voting Romney if he is the nominee.

You want Romney before a single person has announced? Are you working for the Romney campaign or RNC? The fight hasn’t begun and we have some great constitutional conservatives likely running. No more socialist pretending to be what he’s not.

Romney is neither a chocolate chip nor a raisin cookie.

He’s a crap sandwich.

I fear the tea party name is so damaged that people won’t even consider it because they don’t want to be called teabaggers. Unfortunate but true.

Well, I think he'll do worse than before. In addition to spending a lifetime proving to everyone that he has no principles or honest beliefs, in 2012 he proved that he is an incompetent bumbler.

Do you remember how he tried to present himself as a highly skilled manager?

Do you remember how he managed the GOP convention in 2012?

Do you remember how he managed the "get out the vote" operation on election day?

Yeah, what a manager!

I believe such a party already exists in name. They get a teensy tiny bit of support from a few stragglers.

No advertising. Even some Freepers didn’t know about them. It’s good they aren’t well known. A breath if fresh air to many whose had to choke on donkeys and elephants foul air.

I did not like what I saw last time around. I saw a man that was ruthless in taking out his opponents in the primaries- on his toes boxing it out. Then when he went against Obama he did not put up much of a fight. Especially at the end of the race he faded into the background and lost his momentum. I know...the storm, but there are always storms of one kind or another.

I dream of the same thing. Is it possible, with whites becoming a minority soon, or just fantasy?

As much as I’d like to see someone as fierce and as fundamentally righteous as Texas Senator Ted Cruz, or South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, to be the Republican nominee for president in 2016 and subsequently the winner of the general election, I have to accept the reality that ....

... blah blah blah.

I accepted that reality in 2012, and I have accepted the reality that Romney will likely be the nominee again in 2016. I see it coming down the road. I've accepted that reality, Mr. Joy (odd name for an author so rooted in surrendering to a forced "choice").

So have you. You choose to respond to it differently than I do. You choose to vote for the Republican party to turn left and to weaken limited government conservatism within the ONLY political party in America poised to claim it.

I choose to tell that party to go sit on it and rotate and invest my vote on a candidate that I know will lose but who I know represents the principles of limited government. I withhold my vote from big government principles, and you GIVE your vote to those principles.

Our actions differ in how we respond to accepting this reality because UNLIKE you, I have also accepted the reality that when you vote for leftists ... you get leftism. You vote for leftism on the pretense of "appealing to the masses" because you are a "realist." Ironically, you are the most far-flung of dreamers, thinking you can vote for leftism and not get a nightmare result.

Yep. Mitt was out-managed by a community organizer.

It was pathetic.

Romney has no use for conservatives, didn’t even have them at the convention. He wants conservatives to sit down, shut up, send money, and vote. I am not willing to do that, the past results of doing that to vote for the lesser evil have not been good. We are silenced and evil wins any way.
