Like the six other former captives who have been through the Army’s reintegration program at Brooke Army Medical Center before him, daily life for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl is focused on routine.
He rises, eats and sleeps on a “normal schedule” and lives in a “typical” room at the huge hospital facility on a floor he shares with other patients.
What isn’t typical is the security presence outside his door. The reason, says Col. Hans Bush, command spokesman for U.S. Army South, is not to keep the returnee in, but “to make sure he doesn’t get overwhelmed in a social setting.” In other words, the goal is to prevent someone unwanted by either Bergdahl or his reintegration team from entering.
The medical center has a staff of hundreds, but America’s newest and perhaps most controversial returnee interacts daily with a very small, intimate circle numbering less than a dozen.
One of the most important parts of his routine is storytelling. The returnee personally recounts all that happened from the moment he left the security of his post in Afghanistan, though the five years he survived in captivity, right up until the day he was freed last month. And for the first time, the person telling that story is Bergdahl himself.
The listeners are a small group of professionals including a SERE (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) psychologist, members of his medical team and Army debriefers....

Bergdahl has his own platoon of psych handlers in the PRCC at BAMC. They have been rehearsing for Bergdahl specifically, since he deserted.
This might not be such a bad idea. They could have handled it worse.

Sounds like Army PC bullshit. No longer an “Army Strong” or “Army of One”.
More like a “Army of Rainbows and Unicorns”.
Since he deserted under wartime conditions why can’t he be lined up against a wall and shot? I know we haven’t done so in some time but his desertion seems particularly egregious since several of his comrades were killed searching for him.
Why not carve his likeness into Mt. Rushmore?
He deserves it more than the poor schnook who was the only US soldier executed in WWII.

There’s always slimes around like Kerry, like drunken bums in the street they’re always around. The problem are those who put them into office. I got a lot of heat a few years ago when I wrote an article about how Hitler was always blamed for the killing of the Jews and millions of other people, yet nobody ever mentions the millions of Germans who supported and allowed that piece of rat filth to take office. They got off scot free. My point being there will ALWAYS being Hitlers around, there will ALWAYS be evil people around, there will ALWAYS be serial killers, but you DON’T put them into office! But sadly we have people in this world who think they SHOULD be office, so we end up with nightmares like Hitler, Kerry, Obama, Clinton, Stalin, Mao.

We the public will probably never know the real story or storyline. Nowadays, there are surgical means to help remove memory from certain parts of the brain. The Military can breakdown and recreate Bowe’s psyche as they wish him to be presented. All the psychiatrists, pharmacists and therapists will be in on the creation and maintenance of this preferred reality, whatever that ends up being. I’m rather certain the Army has already decided what his fate will be in the service. Now the stage must be set, and all characters actors must rehearse their lines while staying in character. They can create a scenario that portrays him as an immediate threat, one that has to be eliminated then and there. He could be portrayed as a more sympathetic (to libs) figure, like Bradley Manning. They may try to use him to win or influence upcoming elections. So while years back, Bowe was caught staring in the camera reading the prepared Taliban script (that he helped to write), the next two years may show Bowe parroting new talking points as written by the Obama Administration.
“Just help us out a little bit here, then you’ll be discharged without conditions. Why, you would even be free to go back to your Afghan wife and children in that country. Just make sure you never remove that black ankle braclet with the radio chip. All this happiness can be yours just for a little favor from you.” You are dismissed, soldier!
