NEW BRITAIN, CT (WFSB) - New Britain police are investigating senseless violence among random victims in the city that police said mirrors the knockout game that has been a problem throughout the country.
Over this past weekend New Britain police said they are investigating at least three cases of unprovoked, random violence, and in at least one case, the victim was attacked by teenage girls.
The way the attacks have happened is a victim was walking down the street when they are hit from behind, by a person or maybe an object. When the victim turned around, the victim said they saw a group of teens running away.
On Sunday night, Jessica Punsalan said her mother Diane was hit on the side of the head. Punsalan said her mother was walking alone, along Ellis Street, when she was attacked by a group of teenage girls.
"She was punched, closed-fist, on the side of the head. It hit her ear, (and) the top of her jaw," and the 57-year-old woman fell, Punsalan said. "She's still sore and still emotionally shaken up from the whole thing."
New Britain police are investigating a total of three cases from the weekend, all involving random attacks in the South Main Street area, and the suspects are teens in all of the incidents.
"It's absolutely disgusting, these are innocent people, random strangers who probably haven't done anything to anyone," Punsalan added.
Other residents like Trey Williams of New Britain called the incident "wild," and Will Blanco of New Britain called it "sickening."
New Britain police said they are investigating several leads and are leaning on surveillance video and eyewitnesses to help them catch the suspects.

Connecticut needs to ban assault fists.
The lady being interviewed stated that when you think of the knock out game you think of New York or down South. As I recall most of these incidents happen up North or west. Not so much in the South although there have been some incidents.

Also most of the articles I have pertaining to flash mobs are also not in the South. Although it does happen here.
What? The knockout game in liberal Connecticut?
But more importantly we have a lot of gun-carrying Patriots here. That's the major factor in keeping the thugs in line that Yankees lack. The Second Amendment is the guarantee of freedom and is truly the Great Equalizer.
