She was known to be gay.
Hmmm... didn’t know that about Ann. Good for her that she found a purpose outside Hollywood.
And as a Miata owner, the fact that she owned one makes her a whole lot cooler in my eyes!
That is what I had understood too.
Didn’t know that. O
I hadn’t heard that. If she struggled with that temptation in her life yet lived chastely and practiced sexual abstinence for her Christian faith I don’t see the problem.
One thing which intrigues me about the show was that Marcia went from being a sort of frumpy looking kid in the first season or so but by the last year had turned into an absolute babe.
Too bad she apparently sort of hit the skids.
I believe Ms. Davis’ sexuality was subject to rumor and speculation over the years, but nothing was ever confirmed.
Secondly if you live a chaste life, can you really be gay?
Oh, well, that’s a dead giveaway it was true! No one during the time of her career ever willingly came out unless Confidential Magazine caught them in their famous “sewing circles.”
I remember her as Schultzy in “Love That Bob.” Funny lady.
My aunt never married. I am sure some of her students over the year speculated about her, but she was just an “old maid.” My aunt is not a lesbian. She was/is quite a prude.
My own mother thought I was gay because I didn’t marry. It’s silliness from people of a certain age and from a certain era. People like Mom didn’t have much of an education, so they often believed in rumors, superstition and old wives’ tales. You would think that nonsense would die out in the information age. Guess not.
Very true.
Some of us just don’t want to be anchored down. Why would you want to lose your freedom?
If she gave up that lifestyle and asked the Lord for forgiveness, then all is well.
“Secondly if you live a chaste life, can you really be gay?”
I would say no since that word tends to denote being sexual active. I’d prefer to use a term more along the lines of “a chase person who experiences same-sex temptations or attractions” although since Miss Davis never seemed to feel the need to announce to the world whatever sexual attractions she experienced(if any), we’ll never know for sure. And personally speaking I am grateful that she never made a public announcement about such a private, personal matter. We hear too much about that in our current culture already.
Says who?
Amen! I had heard of her religious side before. Good for her. Some people are not terribly sexual. Nothing wrong with that in my book.
Well then she's damned to hell no matter what else she did with her life, thanks for clearing that up.
That was your point, right?
She may very well have been asexual.
