As the old saying goes, A fool and his money are soon parted. Four years ago we saw the fool and his money play out with a great flourish on the Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah did a show telling us what a great guy Mark Zuckerberg, the billionaire owner of Facebook is for pledging to donate $100 million to the City of Newark. Zuckerberg naively believed the money would be used to improve Newarks school system. Of course the then mayor of Newark Cory Booker was only too happy to take this White Liberal suckers money to complete the ..are soon parted, part.

Moron. He should have been involved in the disbursement, following the money all the way to whatever end result he thought he was going to get, with the next installment contingent on sufficient results from the first spend, and so on. I guess that would be “mean”.

Not always, and especially for billionaires. He did get a great tax write-off. Let’s face it. If he doesn’t donate money, the government will confiscate it in taxes. For liberals donating to charity, it really is a secondary issue whether the money donated actually accomplishes what is intended. They get their tax write-off while appearing to “care”. They get to feel good about themselves, and more importantly “look good” to others for being so generous.
If I was going to throw a billion dollars away I’d give $10,000 grants to homeschoolers. Or something like that.
