Hank Aaron Says GOP Are Like the KKK but with ‘Neckties and Starched Shirts’ Instead of Hoods

Original Title:Hank Aaron Says Republicans are Like the KKK but with ‘Neckties and Starched Shirts’ Instead of Hoods

Hank Aaron is a baseball icon. Forty years ago he broke Babe Ruth's all-time homerun record of 714. He ended his career with a total of 755. Barry Bonds surpassed Aaron's record with a total of 762. Since there are claims that Bonds was "juiced," the record is viewed as suspect.

When Aaron was getting close to Ruth's record, the racists came out similar to the way they did when Jackie Robinson broke the baseball color barrier in 1945. They wrote nasty letters to him. Aaron says he still has them in his attic.

After hearing about the racist attacks on Robinson and Aaron, a majority of Americans felt great sympathy for them and cheered them on. The sport of baseball was changed forever.

Hank Aaron is spoiling that sentiment with his recent remarks about Republicans who he claims are not much different from the KKK because of their opposition to President Obama who is black.

Here are some of his comments:

“Sure, this country has a black president, but when you look at a black president, President Obama is left with his foot stuck in the mud from all of the Republicans with the way he’s treated.” “The bigger difference is that back then they had hoods. Now they have neckties and starched shirts.” “To remind myself that we are not that far removed from when I was chasing the record. If you think that, you are fooling yourself. A lot of things have happened in this country, but we have so far to go. There’s not a whole lot that has changed.”

It seems Hank Aaron wasn't lionized enough by the mostly white baseball fans. He's probably bitter being born to late when his home-run hitting skills would have brought him many millions more than he could ever imagine.

Compared to the rest of his black brothers he was treated like royalty. Okay, so he's had the N-word pummeling down on him far too many times. That's understandable. But the bitterness he demonstrates emanates not from racism, politics.

To have him express such convoluted sentiments about the way Obama gets mistreated, you know it's got to be from too many errant fastballs penetrating his vacuous skull.

Hank Aaron is like the Mau-Mau in a sports shirt and dockers instead of a loincloth.

No one ever looked to a ball player for brains. Some have them but it’s clearly not required.

Way to go Hank, spoil an exemplary career with a needless and inaccurate racial smear.

Yes this is probably true but you need to look at who was doing what at the time. I believe that you will find that the majority of the hate full racist then and now are the Democrats. The Democrats are the ones that filled the ranks of the KKK. Hank Aaron is proving himself to be just as stupid as the rest of the black community in that he is aligning himself with those that hate him because they can and do give him goodies. This is to keep him and the rest of the black community trapped in the gutter but still looking for the freebies from the Democrats. rather pitiful but also rather typical.

Ask him to name one single policy promoted by the GOP that is racist. Just one. It’s ridiculous that Aaron can make these ignorant blanket stereotyped bigoted statements without the obvious questions being asked.

Pathetic old racist who couldn’t carry The Babe’s jockstrap. No one loves this jerk like people loved The Babe, Jimmie Foxx, Lou Gehrig, Stan Musial, Duke Snyder, Mickey Mantle or Ted Williams.

I find it sad when so many entertainers - in the twilight of careers where the focus was their talent - decide to tarnish their legacies on their way out the door by spouting off with the most ludicrous crap. Hank Aaron, Tony Bennett, Betty White, the list is endless. To get to that age with a positive view by most Americans and then just stomp on all of it.

Just what I was going to ask...We keep hearing about the “racist” GOP, but don’t ever see proof. Instead, we see the hidden bigotry of low expectations from the modern Democratic Party, following their outright racism from earlier.

Dear Hank,
I'm not KKK but I know democrats that were and are. In addition I do not wear a starched shirt or necktie. I've notice a 'change' though and no 'hope' from your words as of late. Why try to make things worse Hank? If you want to do something useful, in your old age, investigate and secure court orders to prove your points. This is what a lawful people do. Incitement 'to hate' does not fix a problem ... (see my tagline Hank)....

Kiss my behind Hank Aaron. How dare you call me a racist. go peddle that crap back in Obamatopia. FU. I’m sick of jerks like you accusing me of being a racist every two seconds. Rather than bask in the glory of a country that celebrated your accomplishments you’re going to sit in the cesspool of filth with the rest of the race bating degenerates.
