If you need more reasons to miss George W. Bush here's a big one...

I'll admit it, I was very frustrated and felt done with Bush by the time he left office. In the years that have passed I've come to understand he did the best he could (and a HELL of a lot better than the job I would've done).

Above all, quotes like the one below show that he was trying to serve the country, which is in contrast to Obama, who acts like the country serves him...

No question he was a good man. A terrible President, though. He did a great job after 9-11, and for that, I will always be glad he was President at that moment in history.

I do miss the “old days” when the worst we had to battle was squishy conservatism. I say that not tongue in cheek but genuinely.

He wasn’t a great conservative or warrior for the cause. But at least he was a man of integrity and did the best he could given his personal political limitations and the traitorous press.

Now, we not only have to battle squishes like him, but also in-your-face all out leftists who absolutely don’t care about the rule of law and established American tradition.

Pray hard. The nation needs it more than ever.

Bush and almost all of our presidents, even Clinton, had love for our country.
0bama and Carter - not so much.

Actually he did a lackluster job at the very best after 9/11.
His successor is so bad that lackluster seems decent.

I don't have another President yet.

The only thing thing I see in the white mosque is a band of thugs willfully destroying the country I loved.

George Bush is still the President of the United States.

I would not say he was a terrible president. In my lifetime he was better than JFK, Nixon, Ford, Carter, Clinton, and Obama.

Reagan and Eisenhower were better.

His mistakes:

Amnesty, Dubai Ports, Medicaid/are, Libby, War instead of reprisal, Roberts

His strengths:

9/11 Response, Lowering taxes, Protection of Unborn/stem cells, 2d amendment, Alito, Energy promotion

I voted for him each time, and I was an acknowledged Bushbot. For my money, if I’d had a final choice between Mitt Romney and GW Bush, it would have been no contest.

>”Bush and almost all of our presidents, even Clinton, had love for our country. 0bama and Carter - not so much”<

Clinton admitted that he “loathed” the Military.
Carter served his Country, but he was a terrible President.

Obama is a brand new animal, worst President ever. Then again he isn’t my President, he doesn’t deserve the Respect that comes with the Office he holds.

“...some political differences with him but I always liked him...”

Same here. He’s an American, and loves his country.

He pissed me off a lot - especially for not getting in the Dems faces with their lying bullsh*t - but there’s a HUGE difference between being pissed off at a President ....

... and being PISSED ON by a narcissistic clown who thinks he’s a demigod.

And that, to me, is where we are.

Agreed. Big time.

Add TSA and DHS to the mistakes, though.

Bush was not a terrible president. Not by a long shot. Other than Reagan, he was by far the best in my lifetime. I have some major differences with him, and I think in particular he did a bad job of constraining government spending. He had solid tax reduction, we saw historically low unemployment under this policies, he let the free market work, and he oversaw the repair of the military after massive reduction under Clinton. He also stuck with the surge in his second term despite massive pressure to cut and run. We can argue the decision to go to Iraq and the strategy, but that was supported by all sides until the left decided to reverse course in 2003 and attack the republicans on the war.

I agree.

Protecting our airflights is important but strip searching granny in the wheelchair and ignoring Mohammed in the turban is insanity.

TSA should have not happened. What we needed was the Israeli system with El Al. What we got was a combination of Elmer Fudd and Chairman Mao.

DHS is a terrible mistake. We only needed to turn the Coast Guard and the National Guard to their natural missions.

Air Marshalls could - and HAVE done the job. Didn’t need TSA then, and don’t now.

DHS was a nightmare waiting to happen.

Both are a fascist’s dream come true.
