A major anti-Obama YouTube channel with 55 million views was shut down yesterday just days after a new policy went into effect handing governments the power to flag “extremist” content on the video sharing website.

Media commentator and activist Mark Dice, whose channel had 55 million views and 265,000 subscribers, had his account suspended yesterday for what YouTube described as “severe terms of service violations”. The channel was not deleted due to copyright issues.

Maybe because this article calling him "anti-Obama" seems designed to rile people up, whom might not be so much if they knew about what the guy believed.

Yeah, yeah: "free speech", but don't pretend that an article about Bill Maher losing his YouTube channel would spark any sort of real outrage on this website.

Actually, I would be incensed. Free speech is free speech. I might be pleased he was off the air, but if he is censored BECAUSE of his opinions Then, yes, I would be incensed. I prefer they be heard so that people KNOW what vile opinions they hold.

Supreme Court case upcoming? I see that as an infringement on the 1st Amendment. IF (A REALLY BIG WORD LATELY) we had an honest system, that channel would still be up an running.

One can go one YouTube and find the most vile, disgusting freaks of nature on the planet. They are celebrated as ‘diverse’ and ‘expressing themselves’.
But find a God-fearing person desparaging Dear Leader... thats extremist, waranting suspension.

I am sure they will suspend all channels that criticize conservatives as well. (crickets)
