Secession is a word we have not heard much about for a while. Past secession movements have centered on grievances over tolls and taxes which are not items people have been willing to fight out to the bitter end. Those movements failed because local and state governments eventually addressed the would-be secessionists’ demands.
Today there are several secession movements brewing in various diverse parts of the country, but each one centers on a much more important issue: The personal freedoms and liberties of We The People.

I am hopeful for a peaceful separation. It is clear that the nearly 50 percent of the country that wants socialism is never going to change their minds or be persuaded. We are never going to agree to be slaves to the state. It would be best if we went our separate ways, no matter what happens with the ebb and flow of the next few election cycles.
And I bet if we separated the two major groups of people into liberals and conservatives and put them into two defferent states and revisted 10 years from now the liberals would be living in a dystopic state of New Detroit enslaved to their government and begging to enter the conservative state where capitalism had produced a healthy economy and the people were unregulated, taxed fairly, and enjoyed the fruits of their own labor.
