This is another attack upon rights associated with property ownership just like the smoking control freaks who also use government force to seize control over another person’s private property for their personal use and enjoyment who forbid the owner of said property to allow his guests to smoke thereon. But we were warned against submitting to such tyranny:

I have to disagree with your headline. Brewer did not attack. Brewer CAVED to pressure. Especially pressure from the NFL.
Brewer is a RINO....and not too bright. She pushed through the Medicaid expansion in Arizona with a few ‘moderate’ Republicans and all Democrat support. Then, referring to the Republican Party, she said ‘talk about the Party of no’. I HATE when Republicans use Democrat talking points against other Republicans. PS-McCain also uses Democrat talking point descriptions when referring to Conservative Republicans.
Governor Brewer caved, and screwed up in doing so. When will conservative politicians learn that they gain nothing, and stand to lose everything by appeasing leftist agitators and their militant media?
They are going to hate Jan Brewer even more now.

What is it about AZ and the politicians it elects? I get the sense that Brewer means well, but she'd be lost in a community college classroom. And McCain is just plain evil, selling out the people who voted for him to abet the invasion of the US. And Jeff Flake acts like McCain and his "wisdom" are the second coming..
AZ must have some decent people to run for office. I say that because they vote for these backstabbers based on the campaign promises they made.
Let us not forget this is the same Governor that signed onto Obamacare and agreed to expand Medicaid and put an additional 300,000 residents on government’s free-cheese wagon which hard working taxpayers are having their paychecks confiscated to fund.
What she ignored was upholding the Constitution and a fundamental right of people being free to mutually agree in their contracts and associations.

The politics of the matter were such, that by implementing the provisions of this bill presented to the Governor’s office, a whole can of highly undesirable worms would be loosed upon the state. If the organizations to which it was directed are of truly American origin and principles, there would be little controversy.
But the canker buried in the middle this rose is the great and growing probability that the “freedom of association” would almost immediately be abused, and certain ideologies pretending to be a “religion” can turn this around upon the larger proportion of the population, and eventually deem the greater number to be the villains of the piece.
The bill was perhaps not as well constructed as it may have been, and was far too broad in its application. The owner of any business that engages in commerce with the general population has by tradition, the right to eject any trouble maker by the means at hand, using commensurate force to assure that expulsion. This right has been severely eroded by what may be described as using Political Correctness as a kind of “urban guerrilla” tactic, to force and compel the holder of property rights to conform to, at least accept, a standard of conduct altogether contrary to his personal beliefs.
Political Correctness is one of the more pernicious ills that has been visited upon the present day. There are so many “protected classes” that even well-deserved criticism is made into an insult of some kind, and the most boorish of behavior is supposed to be above retaliation.
Governor Brewer may have done the right thing in vetoing this bill, but not necessarily for the right reasons. Because of the failure to explain possible consequences, she appears to have buckled under pressure, and therefore is left looking irresolute and amenable to “persuasion”.
Brewer didn’t cave on immigration. She’s good on that. But then the heavy hand of the feds and/or the courts came down on her. You can’t win for losing.
Jan Brewer always does what is politically most expedient for Jan Brewer.
Jan Brewer got re-elected by signing the anti illegal alien bill before last election cycle. You should see McCain campaign in Az. He makes Ted Cruz look like a marxist...when he is campaigning. Based upon his rhetoric and if your electorate doesn’t pay attention until campaign season, Jan and McCain look great. Understand that the vast majority of Americans are no where near as well informed as the average FReeper. And if your politicians will lie to you straight to your face then you honestly believe you are doing right thing by voting for them. Beyond that Flake is a big dissapointment. All that said they were better than the nit wit dims they were running against. Brewer will not run again and hopefully McCain will retire. If not, with God’s grace, we can primary McCain and Flake out as they stand for reelection.
You got that right. Hmmmm...I wonder if she is thinking of running for McCain’ s seat when he retires? Kinda fits with her actions if you are listening to the standard pubbie campaign managers.
I have friends (outside Az) who think Brewer would be a good national candidate. NO WAY! She does what is best for her. Period.
