I agree. I think we're past the point of no return, and things are going to have to "hit bottom" before we can turn around and start back on the right path. This may take a couple of generations, and it's going to get really ugly in the meantime. Fasten your seat belts.

That's because they could not afford to be so careless & lazy.

I can see why 'property ownership' was a requirement to vote. The person is tied to the land/place, has an interest in the future and would seek to minimize encroachments of any kind.

If I were in a position of power in the republican hierarchy I would dedicate 2-3 senators to an organized effort to make Harry Reid's’ life miserable to the point that he would either have a coronary event or be carried out the door in a wrap around jacket with button closed sleeves.Every day there would be a harangue on the floor of the senate describing his every fault with an effort to raise his blood pressure to exciting levels.. but that would require some republicans with testosterone levels higher than room temperature.
