Paying your taxes is also voluntary.

According to Reid.

(Gene Sperling, director of the National Economic Council):

“These (i.e., more people who have access to healthcare) are the types of things that in an advanced economy give people more options and choice. They don’t cost jobs. They give people more options and choice to live their lives as they have. .....”

Yeah, ‘Free Agents’ who are scrambling to find two or three part-time jobs where the employer in each insists that the ‘Free Agent’ make that crappy little job the #1 priority in their life, like people used to treat careers back when such a thing was the norm and not the exception.

If you aren’t a pro athlete, ‘Free Agent’ means the same thing as ‘Day Laborer’.

Free agent is correct. Companies let workers go so they don’t have to pay the mandate, and that former employee becomes a “free agent”.

But, not by chose.

Also, several high-paying full time jobs have been created for Democrat operatives who come up with these increasingly ridiculous Orwellian double-speak talking points.

Yes, after the Affordable Care Act forces your existing “2nd rate” insurance policy to “transition” to a “quality” policy with great value” you can look forward to a lifetime of “free agency”.

Yes, Harry. The unemployed have been freed of the commitment of having to show up for a job each day. They are also free to live in squalor, a direct effect of the unemployment caused by the unAffordable Care Act.

Has Reid been sharing bags and needles with Philip Seymour Hoffman? There must have been an especially pure shipment.

Free agent. That must be someone that goes on Medicaid and gets food stamps, housing assistance, earned income tax credits, and on and on.
Harry Reid makes me wish that we could have a coup, followed by Nuremburg trials.

In the early days of the Vietnam War, the Viet Cong would enter a rural village, with intent to loot anything they had of value, including their sons to be soldiers. But first, they would get the village elders, force them to kneel, then murder them, execution-style, in front of the villagers, before proclaiming: “You are now free!”

At about the same time, a campus radical at UC Berkeley made the famous quote: “Don’t trust anyone over 30”, which even at the time was seen from the radical communist perspective, later seen in Cambodia, that “come the revolution”, everybody over the age of 30 was to be murdered.

Hairy, ask a washed up running back what it is like being a free agent. . . these folks are not bargaining with a marketable skill. You are just “pushing granny off the cliff” like you accused the Republicans of doing.

If people would wake up and see what is happening to them/us they would make it their life work to see these ineffective slugs that supposedly represent us would become unemployed free agents ASAP.

Main trouble is the ‘cancer’ that has been imposed on the rest of us, mainly because the only ‘real’ work these clowns do is ensure their own well being.

Any ‘body’ that sees fit to give themselves a ‘raise’ every year UNLESS they vote it down, gives themselves a health care plan that makes the Unions look mediocre in comparison, then vote to take funds from those wounded in action while enhancing their own positions does NOT deserve the respect of the people they are supposedly ‘representing’.

These are the same people that continue to raise taxes on the WORKING in order to continue giving money to the NON WORKING, regardless of how they attained that status.

That reminds me of a line from “Spinal Tap,” when the manager is asked if the bands popularity is waning. He replies, “Oh, no, no, no. It’s just that their appeal is becoming more selective.”

Wait... So if Reid thinks 2.3 million Americans involuntarily losing their jobs is a good thing because they become “free agents” and gets them “out of a job they’re locked into”, then shouldn’t that miserable little Marxist also be in favor of dissolving his beloved unions for these very same reasons??

In my view separating employment from health “insurance” is a very good thing. That was a bad policy that began with WW2 wage controls.

I’m all for decoupling health insurance from employment ... it would make people more responsible for their health care spending.

But the government subsidizing the premiums will do the exact opposite

“is positive because it lets Americans be “free agents.”

Free would mean they could with hold their custom in the matter of insurance until some entity met THEIR requirements; but that isn’t the case is it feckHarry?
