What the undocumented community needs out of immigration reform

Jose Patiño is a 25-year-old Dreamer from Arizona who recently appeared in “The Dream is Now” documentary. I was sitting in the kitchen with my mom and her prayer group when one of her friends, Lucero, got a call about her son, Luis, who is in detention. As my mom serves us menudo (spicy Mexican stew), I ask Lucero what happened to her son. She tells me that Luis was detained after a police officer stopped him and discovered he didn’t have a driver’s license. He is now in the Eloy Detention Center. Despite having two U.S. citizen children and having applied for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, Luis was arrested and put in a detention center. The DACA program is supposed to protect undocumented young immigrants, like Luis, from deportation and allow them to work. I grew up in the same apartment complex with Luis’ family. His younger brother, Jose, was my best friend at the J. B Sutton Elementary School. We both went on to study together at Isaac Junior High School and Carl Hayden High School in Phoenix. Despite being a Dreamer, Jose was deported back to Mexico in 2010. He left behind his U.S. citizen son in Arizona. ‘What do you want out of immigration reform?’ Deportation is such a big part of daily life in Arizona that these breakfast conversations almost seem “normal.” Thankfully, Lucero’s caller had good news. The person on the other line told her Luis was going to be given the chance to get out of jail on bail. After a short celebration, Lucero began asking me about the latest news on immigration reform. “Is Obama going to give us papers?” she asked in Spanish.

“Our community needs relief from deportations. We also need driver’s licenses to be able to drive, a work permit to be able to work and some sort of way for us to be able to travel to our native country to visit family members whom we haven’t seen in many years. We don’t need citizenship to be able to do all this.”.They have it all fiqured out.Just issue visa's allowing illegal aliens to go back and forth to Mexico. The same Mexico they claim if deported to Mexico our lives are in danger.. What they need is a one-way ticket back to wherever they came from, and being prevented from entering the U.S. illegally ever again. We have plenty of U.S. citizens who need work, and not to be undercut in price by the illegal parasites.

Right there in black and white. The illegals DON’T WANT CITIZENSHIP! They don’t want to vote for commie ‘RATS. They want a job to make money to take back to Mexico to prop up their bogus government. The ‘RATS, Boehner, McCain and the rest of the RINOs can KMA. They don’t need no steekin’ pathway to citizenship.

I need relief from people who enter my country in violation of our laws and then make demands upon the citizenry of this very country. They, or their parents, made that bed. They can lie in it. It is not my fault they violated U.S. law.

They are documented... in Mexico.

These Mexicans are violating the laws of the United States by their presence here. They are illegal aliens.

If the kids want to be citizens.... go join the Army. The door is wide open, if you got a clean record.

My community needs relief from millions of invaders from our Southern Borders, as well as government tyrants that demand we not only support, educate and care for each and every need of the invaders, while granting them special rights.

Now these same tyrants, acting on behalf of the invaders, are demanding citizenship for them all so that they may vote in our elections and completely destroy our civilization!

Funny...our community needs relief from Mexican squatters that make plenty of money under the table, but sign up for every welfare freebie available. Their children require enormous help in school, and 60% still drop out before high school graduation. They drive drunk and kill innocent citizens. They join Mexican gangs from the teen years until middle age, and murder and mayhem ensue. They rape girls as young as 12. The “wretched refuse” that Emma Lazarus welcomed to the US were legal immigrants, not the lawbreakers that are currently swamping our shores.

What kind of parent would leave their offspring behind?

Probably one who wasn't married to the child's mother, and therefore didn't have any legal right to take his child to Mexico if he wanted to.

I wish these right wing bastards would stop calling these illiterate Mexican lawbreakers “undocumented” and refer to them as PERSECUTED AMERICAN CITIZENS. And Veterans. With PTSD to boot.

(Just Thursday yesterday I met a homosexual who went on and on about how in “76 or, no - 74” he couldn’t wipe the “bright orange agent orange off him.”)

On disability for ages.

Showed me his DAV card before he made another pass at me. He WAS a benefit recipient.

Evidently he was also at Tet in 69. “Special Forces.”

I love meeting SEALS who can’t remember their BUDS team....

In any case I salute his patriotism!

He also had a lot to say about the “beauty of the Koran...” A first for a Mexican in my book! (Not the Koran.)

Hey - anything goes!

Good Luck America.

They can get drivers licenses here in Maryland.

Martin O Malley welcomes illegals.

And he gave convicts the vote too.
