Obama Administration Proposes Rule Changes to Say HIPAA Does Not Apply to Second Amendment

January 8 2014 by Dan Cannon

Earlier this week we heard about the proposed executive actions from the White House that would expand who could be reported as being mentally defection to the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS).

Many at the time wondered how such a rule change could stand given the strict Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations followed in the United States which take great measures to protect the personal medical information of patients.

Now we know how they’re going to do. They’re just going to change HIPAA to basically make it null and void in regards to the Second Amendment.

According to a proposed rule change released a government document, HIPAA privacy rules would no longer apply to data that might have an influence a person’s NICS background check.

Of course. There’s no power like arbitrary power.

That’s what these leftists ALWAYS want to do, because it’s part of their ideology that they are morally and intellectually superior enough to make it up as they go along and have everything work right.

What will they call the Death Camp Ovens, Vacation hotspots?
I see no opposition from the GOP because when it's their turn they'll want
to enjoy all the newly founded invented powers NOT granted by the Constitution.

Wow... so when I had a nervous breakdown in graduate school over my thesis and sought counseling, I’ll now be subject to firearm confiscation even though I was never prescribed medication?

I wonder what the psychology professionals think about this. Essentially, their patient numbers are going to plummet, because no one will trust them to keep their information confidential. Enjoy that, you idiots. You get what you vote for!

We’ve said it before, and with each passing day, it is becoming clear this situation is going to become very messy. There’s going to be a revolt of some kind at some point and I am starting to think it is not so far down the road.

Obama Issues New Executive Actions on Background Checks for Gun Purchases
Katie Pavlich | Jan 03, 2014

” While it is important states are easily able to submit mental health information to the federal background check system, changes in HIPAA should come with extreme scrutiny and thought due to a high risk of changes in the law resulting in major privacy violations. Many doctors are already asking patients (and not just those with mental health problems) about whether or not they have a gun in their home, a fine line to walk.

In the executive action announcement, the White House also urged Congress to pass more gun control measures, some of which Democrats voted no on early last year.

While the President and the Vice President continue to do everything they can to reduce gun violence, Congress must also act. Passing common-sense gun safety legislation – including expanding background checks and making gun trafficking a federal crime – remains the most important step we can take to reduce gun violence. The vast majority of Americans support these critical measures, which would protect our children and our communities without infringing on anyone’s Second Amendment rights.”

Expect an immediate expansion in the medical definition of “mental illness” and an explosion in the numbers of those diagnosed with some form of that ailment.

Obama Administration Stripping Returning Vets Right to Own a Firearm: 100,000 Vets lose 2nd Amendment Rights

Filed under Police State Posted by: Rob Richardson

Under the Obama Administration we’ve already seen a significant downsizing of our military, in what some are calling a purge of anyone who holds “patriotic views.” But now we’ve learned that under this administration, over 100,000 Veterans have been stripped of their 2nd amendment rights to own a firearm.

When a returning Vet becomes eligible for disability compensation, often because they were severely injured in the field of battle, they have to go through a review process with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). During this process, a number of Vets, for a variety of reasons, are sometimes found to be unable to manage their own benefits. If this happens they are assigned a financial manager who overseas their benefits.

But here’s the kicker, the second this happens they are put on a list of Mental Defectives and stripped of their right to own a firearm. They get entered into the F.B.I. NICS System, and can no longer legally own or buy a firearm.
