Irresponsible Gun Owners of the Day: Austin Police Department Officers Shelly Holmstrom and Vincent Giles By Robert Farago on January 2, 2014
I love me some tactical shotguns. Theyre as close to a one-stop shot as you can get in a firearm. Theyre perfect for making solid objects disappear in an explosion of bits. Dont try that at home. Or in a police patrol car. OK, Austin, Texas police officers Shelly Holmstrom and Vincent Giles didnt try to blow the bejesus out of their squad cars with their department-issued scatterguns, but by God they managed it. The video above features a rather confused performance in terms of preparing a shotgun for police duty.

The video was great in that the firearms expert took the journo to the range, showed her the firearm, the safety, it’s operation, and how it could be fired only with a finger or due to an internal malfunction. Then she fired the shotgun herself!
Adopt a journo and take them out to the range.
That’s probably my favorite video on YouTube. I showed it to my son before we went to the gun range.
35+ years handling firearms. I follow the 4 rules like they were drilled into my head by my parents (because they were). Never had a problem with a firearm.
A yellow 12 gauge shell?
I’m surprised KLBJ didn’t report this. I know SGT Sam has been out for a month with knee surgery, but normally they would have this type of story as a topic.
I think that guy was DEA. He had the nerve to sue everybody involved. Don’t know how that turned out.
“one-stop shot” -> one shot stop?
That was hilarious! Poor lad probably got the beating of his life from his father lol.
Love how he says “Mom?”
The sad thing with these idiots on Youtube is that this stuff generally won’t go away. One day the Lord willing, if they live any longer they’ll look back and realize how idiotic they were, but they can’t erase it, it’ll follow them forever.
Right up until the big EMP hits.
Yeah, he was DEA.
