Female Marines can’t do pullups but will be allowed on the front lines anyway.

Starting Jan. 1, every woman in the Marines Corps was supposed to meet a new physical standard by performing three pullups. But that has been put off.The Marine Corps announced it quietly. There was no news conference — just a notice on its social media sites and an item on its own TV show, “The Corps Report.”
Lance Cpl. Ally Beiswanger explained that the pullup test had been put off until sometime next year to gather more data and “ensure all female Marines are given the best opportunity to succeed.”
So far, female Marines are not succeeding. About 55 percent of female recruits tested at the end of boot camp were doing fewer than three pullups; only 1 percent of male recruits failed the test.
The three pullups is already the minimum required for all male Marines. Now the Marine Corps has postponed the plan, and that’s raising questions about whether women have the physical strength to handle ground combat, which they’ll be allowed to do beginning in 2016.
Marine officers would not talk to NPR on tape. They said they delayed the pullup requirement to avoid losing not only recruits but also current female Marines who can’t pass the test.
For years, female Marines have had to meet a different standard — an exercise called the “flexed arm hang” (holding one’s chin above the pullup bar for at least 15 seconds).
But beginning in 2016, women in the Marine Corps and Army will be allowed to serve in infantry, armor and artillery units. And they’ll need to be strong enough to climb those mud walls and carry ammunition.
Robert Maginnis, a retired Army lieutenant colonel, says the delay shows that women just can’t meet the same standards.
“Young women, in spite of all the training and all the best intentions, are not going to be the equal of young men in terms of upper body strength,” Maginnis says. “You’ve got to have a lot of upper body strength to lift the stuff. Been there, done that.”
Maginnis just wrote a book called “Deadly Consequences: How Cowards are Pushing Women into Combat.” He says the issue has more to do with politics than protecting the nation.
Equality is not a oil well fire. Setting off a big blast of reverse discrimination does not snuff out discrimination; It just burns everything down.
Unfortunately, I believe a lot of people saw this coming when it was announced that women would be allowed into combat arms jobs.
Any nation sending women into the front lines of combat is either fighting for it’s very survival..... or dying from within.
The Pentagon has got to be filled with lesbians.
I experienced this for the first time in 1970. I had been accepted to the Dallas Firefighter Academy and had my start date when a federal district judge ruled DFD had to hire all women until they reached 15% of their force. To do that they rolled back the requirement of carrying a 100 lb sack down a ladder and some other requirements. In order to make sure that they had enough women they reduced the rescuing functionality of firefighters.
Liberals never concern themselves with what works; reality means nothing to them. It is all about enacting the stuff they talked about in college around a bong.
When women can’t meet the standards, just lower the standard. That will only result in good Marines and soldiers getting killed.
The entire military is filled withe lesbians and queers, openly flaunting it, now.
Or has elected or appointed traitors as government administrators and military leaders.
Well, then, I guess the rope climb is no longer part of a Marine’s PT requirement either.
We can get away with this as long as we fight a few savages with us having overwhelming superiority. God help us if we fight a real enemy like China.
Lowering the bar is what Obama is all about. It’s how he got his job. The left continues to display its stunning lack of understanding of combat, the economy, national security, diplomacy...you name it. This is a generation of Americans who were raised in a bubble of prosperity, safety and comfort, and they are incapable of understanding how they got there or how to preserve it.
No it’s full of ambitious political officers, who know what the secDef and POTUS want. They aren’t going to risk their careers to stop it.
It would appear to me that the current P.C. military hierarchy is very obviously a bunch of pussies.
And their strategy may very well be one they lifted from the Mussies.
Place Women and children in the front lines to absorb the first shots, thus allowing the chicken men hiding behind them to locate the shooters.
They know what they are doing. If they reduce the military to a Social Program, unable to fight, it’s a win win for them.
Marines are going to die having to save the female Marines because they are physically incapable of performing the duties necessary. Politically correct run amok.

The Marine Corps is not lowering their standards. The pull-up requirement has always been a male only requirement. Females have always had to do the Flexed arm hang for score on the PFT. This requirement has nothing to do with women getting into a combat arms MOS. The PFT is the basic physical fitness test for Marines. If anything the Marine Corps wants all Marines, male and female to have the same standards on the PFT. What is happening is they are finding out that women are failing the pull-up requirement at a high rate. All the Marine Corps is doing is holding off on requiring females to do pull-ups until they can find a good way to get them there. This has been a bone of contention in the Marine Corps for decades, every Marine needs to be held to the same standard. The question is how do we get there without lowering our standards and how do we get there without losing otherwise good female Marines who need time to be able to meet those standards. The Marine Corps will get this figured out by the middle of the year. At that time females will be doing the same exact PFT the males do. The Flexed arm hang will die the death it deserves.
We have a younger female relative in her teens.
She has been a competitive dancer since she was 6.
At an early age, she realized that she had to really do some tough and regular workouts besides dancing. So, she got herself in incredible shape at age 6 and has gotten better each year.
She can do 50 military push ups and a few one handed push ups.
She can kick a soccer ball accurately 70 yards in the air while on the run.
She could out run the boys in her class until her 6th grade, and up to last year only a few boys could out run her in the dashes and distance runs.
We joke that she has an 8 pack instead of a 6 pack ab.
She is an excellent markswoman with a shotgun or rifle and has shot wild turkeys and a deer. The deer was dropped at about 150 yards with one head shot.
She is in credible shape, but she can’t do a single pull up.
Nor can she pull herself up over a solid wall.
I doubt if she can do a hand over hand pull up a hanging rope.
A couple years ago, we took her her younger brother to an indoor climbing facility. She never made it to the top, and her younger brother had no problem pulling himself up the various foot/hand hold and did it several times.
Her Dad is an outstanding archer with targets and critters from wild hogs, deer, antelope and elk. She can’t pull a bow over 40# in pull weight. Her younger and smaller brother can load and pull a 70# bow and shoot arrows very accurately. Their Dad uses an even heavier pull weight compound bow.
By the time she is in her early 20’s, she will probably be in better shape and a better markswoman than 95% of any male population.
She is probably in the top 1 or 2% of women re strength, conditioning and other physical abilities.
Yet, she will probably never be able to do a pull up, go hand over hand on a hanging rope or scale a wall higher than her head.
There are probably dozens of other critical physical challenges a combat US Marine can do, that she will never be able to do.
Putting this exceptional physical conditioned woman in a platoon of Marines or in charge of a Marine Platoon would not be fair to her or the platoon.
