Kurt Hofmann comments on the latest kerfluffle between the ADL and other professional citizen disarmament advocates and NRA board member Scott Bach. Bach is being pilloried "for expressing surprise in a phone interview on NRA News that Mayor Fulop could be so rabidly anti-gun, given the fact that his grandparents were Holocaust survivors. Predictably, the 'progressives' cannot contain themselves, and are in full-throated anguished bleating meltdown mode."I have never understood this willful denial of reality on the part of what according to polls is an overwhelming majority of America's Jews. Did they learn nothing from the Holocaust? Nothing from the Warsaw Ghetto? Nothing from the Bielski Brothers? Nothing from "Arbeit Macht Frei"? Nothing? As I quoted back in 2008 in a praxis post on strippers clips and ammunition packaging:

The Bielskis would spit in their faces -- all the while keeping firm grips on their rifles.

Not exactly. Behind those 40k stood all the police (presumably some hundreds of thousands), the various paramilitary forces of the Party (numbering some millions at their peak, if I remember correctly), and a highly efficient military numbering millions, though not at the same time as the peak numbers of the paramilitary forces.
And if it had come to actual civil war, it appears that a very considerable majority of that 80M would have chosen to fight on the Nazi side.
None of which should be taken to mean I oppose armed resistance to evil when necessary. Wise men count the cost of a battle before charging into it. Sometimes they charge into a battle they can't win. But at least they're aware that's what they're doing.
One of the Just War criteria is that there must be a reasonable chance of victory, before one can choose to go to war. However, even in their otherwise pacifist encyclical on nuclear war, issued about 30 years ago, the Catholic Bishops stated that a hopeless fight against evil can still be a "proportionate witness." Sometimes standing up against evil is justified even if the odds are badly against you.

I will only note with interest that every time a patriot comes forth to attempt to rally the citizens to fight for their rights, some other invariably comes forth to try and convince them how futile their attempts would be. I would side with the voices of history that tell you of the facts on the ground and not the naysayers that seek to quell your resolve.
In addition, IIRC, the ratio of civilian informants to Gestapo agents was about five to one. This was true under Stasi as well, except most in the Reich were voluntary, but under communism were made up of compromised persons forced to rat on their fellow citizens.

Backs up (or predates) what I've been saying all along. When TSHTF those who GIVE THE ORDERS have to be terminated, simply disappear, or have "accidents". But waiting until the roundup of conservatives starts won't do; find out who they are NOW, before the information is scrubbed. Learn their residences, their workplaces, their travel habits.
There are some here who will believe I am advocating murder. Not so; it is self-defense, pure and simple. Remember, Hitler never killed anyone; he was only GIVING ORDERS!
And in our case in some areas it may be twenty to one. Since we can't just check the voter registration rolls and terminate all the Ds, it becomes more important to get the ones who will receive the informers' reports and order action upon them.

In the “law of nature,” when a person takes up a weapon and threatens life, that person has “declared war” on those whose lives he threatened.
Inherent in that act of declaring war on those individuals, is the fact that he has also declared his OWN life forfeit.
Any person who takes up arms in RESISTANCE to that act of war, has also declared war on the aggressor. And in doing so, has also declared his own life forfeit.
In such a contest of Wills, commitment to purpose will prevail.
