Accomplished liar Kathleen Sebelius breaks pledge to Issa Committee, changes ObamaCare rules

On December 11th, HHS head Kathleen Sebelius told Darrell Issa’s House Government Oversight Committee that 365,000 had enrolled in ObamaCare. Later on during the hearing, this conversation took place between Sebelius and Representative Michael Burgess (R) of Texas concerning the definition of “enrolled”:

Burgess: What if that patient doesn’t make the premium payment? You said they’re covered Dec. 23, but they never write the check. They never make the payment.

Sebelius: Then they’re not covered. They are not enrolled, and at every point along the way, on the website they are told until they make the payment— (1)

Sebelius repeated this claim to the Committee often and without hesitation–if a “customer” has not paid, they are not covered.

Oh, what a difference a day makes! Twenty four hours after giving this assurance to Rep. Burgess, Sebelius once again changed the Affordable Care Act and...

If there’s a single member of this administration that doesn’t deserve to be impeached, I haven’t heard of him.

You have to pass it to find out what’s in it.

Well they passed it.

This is the damndest law I have ever heard of. It changes from day to day.

2500 pages of BS has become 20,000 pages of regulations—and they change them daily to fit their desires.

Come Jan. 1st. there will be millions of people with no insurance. I hope they don’t forget to thank Pelosi, Obama, Reid, and Sebelius when their Doctor and their pharmacist, asks for payment

Come Jan 01, there will be some numbers of people WITH insurance, but with enormous deductibles typically $5000 at the minimum, they will STILL be on the hook for their doctor, hospital, or Rx bills.

If they can find a doctor.

Megan McArdle quite astutely noticed that Obamacare’s sole mission now is “to stay alive until after the 2014 elections.”

I’ve got a question that just occurred to me.

What is the Federal Governemnt getting out of being a ‘clearing house’ for enrolling people into insurance through the Affordable Care Act?

Are they being paid a ‘fee’ for each person enrolled?

Is it a continuing co9mmission?

Or is it something else... Possibly all of the personal information a person has to give up in order to now receive healthcare?

Does anybody really know what the ACA aka Obamacare getting the Federal Government as a ‘direct’ result of enrolling people into healthcare?

You are correct. The mistake is believing we live in a republic when it's nothing more now than a banana republic. My sympathy goes out to all young people that will lose all of their freedoms over their lifespan.

Yes this plan of Obama’s is great for the poor when they sign up for Medicaid, but the Middle class is taking it right up the old Kazoo.

“And even if he hasn’t paid by the middle of January, insurers are “urged” to provide coverage anyhow! What are the odds these insurance providers will actually be reimbursed by the Regime for losses incurred thanks to Kathleen’s “urging?””

Ah but there are provisions in the bill to make sure insurers are covered by we the taxpayers if insurers lose.

Sebelius can get away with lying because there is no one who holds her and her boss accountable.

And when they get away with it once, they’ll get away with it forever.

“If they can find a doctor...

EVEN IF they find a doctor, they’ll STILL be on the hook for the first $5K of expenses. My former insurance had a $50 per visit co-pay. And I was OK with that. The 1-2 times a year I went to the ER, that was an acceptable hit. The monthly was $600, up from $450 5 or so years ago. Many folks’ (now expired) insurance used to have $1500 or $2500 deductibles. This thing about $5000 or $6500 deductibles means these folks are going to be paying their $300-$500-$700 or $1100 or $1400 a month AND be responsible for the first big slug of costs. I have to wonder just what combination of stupid yet scared to death of not having insurance people need to be to think this is viable. I guess we’ll find out.

They should be careful what they wish for. Right now they have employer subsidized insurance. What if that were to suddently go away. I challenge every member of the mainstream media to go to the obamacare exchange, plug in their information and get a whiff of the sticker shock for themselves.

I have posted many times about the 2013 increased deductibles for so many people out here in Californicator land. Many plans went up to $5500 to $6500 per person for the yearly deductible.

The liberals and so called moderates blamed the health insurance companies, evil/greedy doctors and hospitals. They didn’t want to believe the insurance companies were trying to pay for what was coming in 2014.

I have a reply on another Obamafraud care thread re many friends having elective surgeries this week to avoid not being covered or get into this year’s deductibles.

My wife and I have been warning relatives, friends, people we know and former patients of my wife, not to wait until 2014 for surgeries that might not be allowed or paid for in 2014.

IIRC, the Federal govt. is only in the clearing house act because some of the states didn't fall for the Obama short term money bribes.
