They live in Illinois. End of discussion.
How soon before more surveys with questions about guns in the home?
We are living in a tyrannical/totalitarian remake of "Revenge of the Nerds". What Bill wants, Bill buys.
I ain’t got no time fo’ dat! Where my Obamaphone at?!
I homeschooled my daughter until 8th grade when she wanted to go to school with her friends. Last year, she came home with an American History assignment on Senator Joe McCarthy. I had a blast educating her. She had to present her report/essay to the class. The teacher and the class gained a new understanding of McCarthyism that day.
I had one parent e-mail me about my daughter's report. She said that, at first, she was indignant because her son came home telling her how wrong she was about McCarthyism. So she researched the facts presented before e-mailing the principal about the "travesty that had taken place in class." She thanked us for our efforts.
I understand the questionnaire is intrusive, but I'd never waste an opportunity to shed light on the truth. Someone somewhere needs to read it and you never know when you'll reach a teacher who's secretly conservative and provide encouragement.
They called the police on me once for having the audacity to legally park on a residential street next to the school. The traffic Nazis had ordered me to park elsewhere because I was not following their established rules.
I asked them if they had a city ordinance preventing me from parking there. When they answered no, I told them to go get one and rolled up my window.
The police supported me and pretty soon other parents began breaking the rules. It was awesome.
Very cool.
I had a similar discussion with a principal once.
HER: It’s my school and what I say goes.
ME: Wrong, it’s my daughter and what I say goes.
Guess who won that discussion? She learned pretty quickly not to cross me. I was polite, but I didn’t take anything from anyone.
