One small partial answer: community gardens. “Scholarships” for those who need them. Lessons in composting so you don’t have to buy $50 bags of compost.

Like Victory Gardens. This is a war, after all. Against the collapse of the economy.

I saw that, and I knew that. Didn’t the Food Safety Act just expire, though? Someone told me Monsanto is now working through the states because of the expiration of this act, and I think the story was on FR, but there was a GLOBAL protest, and I don’t think Monsanto has succeeded yet.

In any case, at least one city has community gardens and they do help.

Rush asked the same question, last year. How do you compete with Baracka Claus?

There are already community gardens in the communities most likely to be affected by this change.

Most of the people on food stamps in my locale have yards. The section 8/subsidized homes for ‘families’ are 1200-1400 sq ft detached homes with yards probably 50ft or so deep behind the home itself. Plenty of room for gardens.

And there are a few back there in those yards.

And it’s a lead pipe cinch to tell the age of the occupants based on the presence of those gardens.

Little old people who grew up poor before food stamps *always* have a plot of food somewhere. It’s what they’ve always known. It’s what they’ve always done.

Anyone under about 50 will scarcely get their hands dirty. They might spoil their brand new manicures.

Yeh, I know, but there’s plenty of gardens around here, plenty of people on welfare, and no one’s stopping them, yet they don’t even try.

LOL. I may be “touched” but I’ll be eating when the plastic cards fail, and the currency is worthless.

Quark: "Let me tell you something about Hew-mons, Nephew. They're a wonderful, friendly people, as long as their bellies are full and their holosuites are working. But take away their creature comforts, deprive them of food, sleep, sonic showers, put their lives in jeopardy over an extended period of time and those same friendly, intelligent, wonderful people... will become as nasty and as violent as the most bloodthirsty Klingon. You don't believe me? Look at those faces. Look in their eyes."

Or to parephase a quote from 'Firefly':

"What happens if they breach our BOL us?"

"If they take the our BOL they will rape us to death, eat our flesh, and sew our skins in to their clothing, and if we're very, very lucky, they’ll do it in that order."

Gardening isn’t the ONLY thing they’re not ‘trying’ at.

You got that right. Totally unsustainable. I remember when they started all that “helping” crapola. Some people I went to school with were the first ones I ever knew who were “independent” overnight.

Had their own apartment, and living allowance, as well as fees being paid to go to the most prestigious private university in our area.

Me? I paid my own way to state college, and could barely afford that. And the taxes out of my paycheck went to help pay for the give aways.

Well, I’d rather be independent, but Marcella told me I was “touched”. LOL

Well this is true. But you noticed they’ve mastered the art of getting pg. At least they aren’t aborting the babies, is the only good thing I can say.

They have to reduce welfare (EBT cards). And some blacks will use it as an excuse to be racist and commit crime against other races of people - especially whites. Then they will get shot. Hence, the effort to disarm whitey.

Many of the people on food stamps could buy some seeds, and grow their own stuff. Combined with their food stamp money they would have more than they could eat, if they would just learn to do it.

Wait... What????

You mean WORK for your food?

You... you.... you....
