Congress Set to End Fiscal Impasse as Boehner Concedes
Sigh.
So what was the reaction in financial markets from the surrender by Mitch McConnell (RINO-KY) and John Boehner (RINO-OH)? Particularly after the terrifying crisis that Democrats, the media and Gall Street professionals were screaming about?
First, the 10 year US Treasury yield fell 6 basis points in the afternoon. Hardly an earth shattering change from the alleged brink of default.

Second, US Credit Default Swaps are at 40, almost the same as Australia and New Zealand. Which, as far as I know, have NOT been on the brink of default.

To show how close the US came to a disastrous default, 5 yr CDS are back to March 2013 levels. Gee, that was a close one! /sarc

Third, the US dollar was flatter than an old can of Blatz.

So, did McConnell and Boehner (not to mention Obama and Reid) save the economy from a devastating default? Or did the McConnell and Boehner surrender needlessly? The latter. There NEVER was any risk of default.
surrenderdddd
the article is right . there was never any chance of any default
but the media lied. until people realize that the news is not news but political propaganda disguised as news( all of it everywhere) then we are doomed and cvannot even begin to fight.
i’ve had MANY even on this site debating me believing there was a crisis. when will people realize the media are democrat political operatives. nothing is true , nothing is news , none of it. when ?

What is the point of a debt limit?
A total CF by the GOPe Senate.
The house hasn’t voted yet and the GOP holds a majority. Don’t waste this time.
Section 147 of the Continuing Resolution calls for payment to the widow of multi-millionaire Lautenberg, the amount of $174,000?!?!?
Paying off pimps is what the Senate Republicans voted for todaythey dont care about Americans whose premiums are going up 166%, but, theyll pay their friends, huh?
According to Mark Levin-Constitutional expert10.16.13
If Obama defaults on paying the US debt, he has committed an
impeachable offense.
Not that any of the pols in DC have the nads to call him on it.
Can any of the debt be rescheduled by the borrower?
(If no deal were passed, wouldn’t someone not get paid interest on their T-bills or something?)
