The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) officially launched nationwide on Tuesday Oct 1st, 2013. Since Wednesday there have been primarily negative reviews of the new Exchange system due to poor Marketplace performance. [see Forbes article] Unexpected hold times, website crashes and delays, as well as unexpectedly high monthly premiums have prompted public outrage and frustration. Therefore, as a licensed health insurance agent and fellow consumer, I would like to present a helpful list of options to those individuals who are attempting to purchase a new "Obamacare" plan at this time.

I can’t get through the windex ads———they keep messing with my ‘puter.
that’s the worst thing about that site, always 2 or 3 pop-ups - I just close them immediately
I tried—but they kept coming right back.
Some things aren’t worth the hassle—LOL!
Examiner blog sucks.
Firefox browser plus Adblock Plus addon = no more ads or popups. Plus, you can add your own, custom filters.
Examiner blog would still suck even without ads.
You’re talking above my grade level—LOL! I’m on a Mac, and really don’t like Firefox.
Maybe a rogue Amish guy will form the reformed Amish church. He can set up shop and then franchise out parishes throughout the country. People can then decide whether to add catastrophic coverage if they want.
What about renouncing US citizenship? Someone is going to try this in the US.
Dear Upchuck,
I have been completely unwilling to change for years. Your post came at the exact time I gave up. I closed freerepublic, downloaded firefox, added the blocker thing you recommended, and came back to post this about five minutes later. Didn’t even have to restart. No thinking involved to find where I was reading. My sanity thanks you from the bottom of my heart.
Love, TH
You’re welcome.
Some other addons I find useful:
Ghostery - Identifies and allows you to block the 3rd parties (web bugs) that are hidden on the page you’re visiting.
PrivacyChoice TrackerBlock - Decide which companies can track you for advertising. TrackerBlock give you complete control over online tracking.
WOT - Web of Trust - Uses a traffic-light rating system to show you which web sites you can trust when you surf, search and shop online.
I had forgotten I had done this, and was instantly happy again when I turned on the computer. I am adding your other recommendations, and my next child will be named Upchuck. Upchick if a girl.
Wow, what an honor :)
Thanks for those tips ;-) Bookmarking!
