CASE SOLVED: Effingham gun sign thefts case solved, arrest made

Gun haters intolerant not only of gun rights, but also free speech rights.

Guns Save Life director Don Huskey, who hails from Effingham, was perplexed when signs touting his “All American SHO-Show” gun shows started turning up missing in and near Effingham during the month of September.

He replaced the signs, on private property where he had owner permission to post them, and they too turned up missing.

“It’s frustrating,” he told GSL’s president John Boch.  “It’s really frustrating.”

Well, last week Don Huskey got some good news.

Police made an arrest.

Of course, just like in the opening intro to COPS on television, “All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

It turns out the mystery suspect was none other than the former Effingham city council member, 61-year-old Larry Micenheimer, who lost his recent race for mayor of the city while running as a Democrat.

Huskey said Micenheimer is a retired High School guidance counselor and not surprisingly, Micenheimer’s been described as a “little” left of center in his political ideology.

When police questioned the former Democrat city council member, Micenheimer told them that he was merely enforcing city ordinances that the police should be enforcing.  “He practically begged them to charge him I was told,” Huskey said.

Huskey was careful to note the signs weren’t in violation of ordinances or codes and believes Micenheimer’s claim is nothing but cover for the former Democrat council member’s deep-seated hatred of guns and the disrespect he has for others’ constitutional rights.

Huskey wrote, “He left alone signs right next to ours like ’70% off furniture liquidation sale’, yard sale signs, houses for rent, payday loan signs, etc.”

“Our persistence paid off in the end, though,” Huskey said with a grin.

That says it all right there.

Just as gun activists’ persistence is paying off with gun rights for everyone, Don Huskey’s persistence paid off against a man who hated gun rights so much he was apparently willing to commit felonies to stifle other people’s First Amendment rights as well.

Why is it that gun control advocates are such control freaks?

Who would have thought that a Democrat candidate for mayor would go around stealing signs advertising a gun show?

Ok, I guess it is not that surprising.

Flip that around. Why is it that control freaks are such gun control advocates? Because guns promote "the security of a free state" rather than the type of state they want.

Ok, he’s wearing a shirt with “Sloth” from the Goonies. That movie was out when I was a kid, but this guy is at least 15-20 years older than me. I smell a potential child molester.

Police made an arrest.

Based on surveillance tapes, etc.?? Hope they have solid proof, but I suspect he'll get slapped on the wrist.

As someone posted earlier, when signs start to go missing, coat 'em with poison ivy/sumac/whatever itches. (Problem is, where do you find the extract?) Nobody normally touches those signs except the owner, so not much, if any, chance of nailing the wrong people.

They have a confession:

“When police questioned the former Democrat city council member, Micenheimer told them that he was merely enforcing city ordinances that the police should be enforcing. “He practically begged them to charge him I was told,” Huskey said.”

Why is it that gun control advocates are such control freaks?

Because it is NOT about guns. It IS about control. The control freaks naturally gravitate towards 2A issues.

They have a confession:

Yeah, I saw that, but was hoping they had more solid evidence. He can always recant - "under duress", ad nauseum.

At that site, one poster wrote:
"This article is incorrect in many areas. No one has been arrested or even charged. The signs were not on private property, so Huskey lied about getting permission and they all were in violation of the city ordinance."

I asked him for his source because, if true, the article is B/S. I couldn't find anything on the web about this incident.
