TRENTON -- A new poll finds the race for U.S. Senate in New Jersey has tightened.

The Quinnipiac University poll released Tuesday shows 53 percent back Democratic Newark Mayor Booker, while 41 percent support former Bogota Mayor Lonegan. The special election is scheduled for Oct. 16.

I'd love for the Obamacare debate to reverberate into the New Jersey senate race! Scare the living hell out of those in power!!

Booker is not Socialist enough to get today’s Democrat Base really excited about turning out for him.

Booker's history of embellishing his background with “tall tales” has been coming back to bite him in the last couple weeks. Will it be enough to derail him in dark blue New Jersey, I wouldn't count on it...but hope springs eternal...

I hope every conservative comes out for Lonegan and stays home for Christie!

This is encouraging news. The poll was done before Booker’s adventures in tweeting was made public, so this could be winnable.

I agree. I was just watching Special Report, and weirdly on their ‘pulse’ program, most people thought Republicans would win a government shutdown.

53-41 is not good but that’s a hell of lot closer than it was. 64-29 was the last poll I saw. We’ll see if the twitter stuff makes a further difference.

I’m not sure if Lonegan is capable of winning. A stronger candidate surely would be against this circus clown, Booker.

But nothing to be done about that now, we gotta give it the old college try with the guy we have.

I wish people would pressure Jabba the Governor to play for his own team. He appeared with Booker at some ribbon cutting thing the other day. Disgusting pig. It’s not like he handpicked some RINO to oppose Lonegan in the primary, the only other candidate was some neophyte doctor lady or something.

Why isn’t there a serious Libertarian threatening HIS election instead of one in VA to help Terry McAwful get elected?
