Abbott: Wendy Davis not 'too stupid' to be governor
Austin American-Statesman ^ | 09/16/2013 | Jonathan Tilove

Round Rock — Attorney General Greg Abbott said Monday that Sen. Wendy Davis, D-Fort Worth, is not “too stupid” to be governor.

Abbott was responding to a question from a reporter after speaking to supporters at a campaign event at the 620 Cafe Café & Bakery, regarding a retweet last week by Abbott’s campaign adviser Dave Carney, suggesting that Davis, a Harvard-trained attorney who is considering seeking the Democratic nomination for governor, “is too Stupid to be Governor.”

Carney’s tweet linked to UrbanGrounds, where Robbie Cooper of Austin blogged that the recall election last week of two Democratic state senators in Colorado who had backed a new gun control law, “makes me think that Texas state Senator Wendy `Abortion Barbie’ Davis is even dumber than her fake blond hair would imply. According to the far-left (and huge fans of Abortion Barbie) Texas Tribune, Davis is likely to add tougher gun restrictions to her campaign agenda if (when) she decides to run for Governor.”

That was a reference to a story in which Jay Root wrote that, “Despite the risks, Davis, known for waging sometimes lonely political battles, has not been afraid to pick a fight over guns — in particular over gun shows.

Asked about the “too stupid” tweet, Abbott said, “I disagree with that statement and we’re going to make sure that this campaign focuses on the real issues that matter to Texans. What we’re talking about here today is a small business owner and the challenges small businesses face. So our focus is going to be on creating jobs, on keeping taxes low and keeping Texas the state that provides more opportunities than nay other state.”

I do wonder, if, it some beyond nightmarish scenario she was governor, would she take obscenely far reaching measures in addition to enacting obscene abortion policies? Would she try to have as much gun control in Texas as there is in NY or Maryland? Create a Bloomberg style Nanny State? Make taxes as obscenely high on everyone as they are in California? I fear the answer to all these is yes. I do try to be a relative optimist about America’s future but it is too painful to even think about that future with her as governor of Texas.

Anyone that works so hard to protect something she knows so little about is only being self serving. She is abortion ignorant.

Not a gaffe in any way. campaign manager said she was too stupid.(She is)
Abbott said he doesn’t agree and wants to stick to the issues.

How is that a gaffe? And if he keeps the campaign manager, that’s called a subliminal message. You’ve gone Asiatic if you think that’s a gaffe.

God what idiots, even I’m offended, this is like that gaffe that put what’s her name into office.

Abbott’s campaign adviser Dave Carney,
“”makes me think that Texas state Senator Wendy `Abortion Barbie’ Davis is even dumber than her fake blond hair would imply. “”

What a cheap little punk to talk like that.

Abbott paid his campaign manager how many millions to make such a foolish statement?

Really, some things that people come out with reveal ugly things about themselves.

When men are running for political office and speaking of women as “barbies” as an insult, and talking about “fake blond hair” or women as stupid, they not only turn off good women, but good men.

These guys are already out of the class of “real men”, they sound weak and petty, and unmanly, Reagan wouldn’t think like this, much less think it so much that he campaigns on speaking it out loud.

Harvard trained attorney

In my world, that’s just another way of saying “too stupid for just about anything”.

Abbott is wrong.

Oh shut it quisling.

If you want to be a white knight and go vote for a abortion loving communist because someone offended your sense of chivalry.

Politics is hardball, otherwise enjoy being slave.

No wonder you are a retread, you can’t accurately read someones’s post.

Your post was nonsensical, evidently politics, and not even manhood are strong areas for you, there is no political gain in this, only political setback for the republicans of Texas and their image.

A proxy says what the candidate cannot. Picture is disseminated. Mission accomplished. You don't gain points among women by mocking "fake blond hair", or women as stupid, and those of us attracted to good looking Texas women don't care to hear Barbie used as an insult.

""Abbott ran into controversy last month when he thanked a supporter on Twitter who had referred to Davis as “retard Barbie,”""
