A creative writing professor at Michigan State University was removed from his classes last week after he made insulting comments about Republicans during a previous class.

William Penn, a tenured professor, has received a paid semester-long sabbatical as "punishment" for his rants, but he will continue to draw his $146,510 annual salary.

William Penn’s comments, which were videotaped by a Michigan State University student, lasted for eight minutes. They were posted by Campus Reform, a group that monitors liberal bias at universities.

What did William Penn say to his students?. What did this professor say that was so controversial? After all, professors are known for making provocative statements during class.

Penn started by saying that “If you go to the Republican convention in Florida, you see all of the old Republicans with the dead skin cells washing off them. They are cheap. They don’t want to pay taxes because they have already raped this country and gotten everything out of it they possibly could.”...

Can you imagine the hoots of “HATE SPEECH!” if it were the other way around and I won’t even give an example of wording it that way, you know what it would be.

Creative writing my foot. More like destructive writing!

One of the students meekly dared to frown and this Leftist professor became angry and told him he was a 'closet racist' and that he would "go after him."

Professor of creative writing? Seriously? Are you sure he really isn’t a professor of creative history? Ask him if he’s ever heard of Dred Scott.

Well, technically, he’s correct.

The Republicans HAVE raped this country.

Just not in the way he thinks.

Maybe the more correct term would be...they are an ACCESSORY to rape...in that they stood by and did nothing while we the citizenry were raped.

He is a bully who thinks he has complete control of his class and students and can dictate anything he wants to them and they BETTER agree.

I had a few kinda (not as bad) as this when I went for my MBA.

After three combat deployments - I could care less what a lefty professor thinks of me.

They usually back down pretty quick when someone respectively stands up to them - especially with facts.

I never got a bad grade and I wrote one paper on what a kooky left wing book we had to read for class.

Tells you what you need to know right there.

Ouch! A semester off with pay. (Nice pay too.) That’s gotta hurt. I’m sure he has learned his lesson with this punishment. Maybe he can do his “time” in some hellhole like Hawaii. Beachfront.

I wonder if it has occurred to this clown that the country was begun in 1776 and the Republican Party was started until the 1850s.

WTF? What kind of school pays a liberal arts professor that kind of salary. He should be making around $35k a year at a junior college somewhere.

Campus Group Protests Professor’s Employment at MSU Trustee Meeting

By: Anthony Sabella - Email
Updated: Fri 12:39 PM, Sep 13, 2013

It wasn’t on the agenda, but Michigan State Campus Conservatives made their point clear to the Board of Trustees, Friday, that they want more punishment for Prof. William Penn.

This comes one week after his anti-Republican rant to one of his classes made headlines across the country. Penn has since had his teaching duties removed for the semester. He is still writing and doing research for the university and receiving his six-figure salary.

Campus Republicans President Matthew Bedard says he doesn’t think Penn should be paid at all. Hear more details and a response from MSU President Lou Anna K. Simon, tonight, at 5.

You all be sure to let the State of Michigan Legislators know what you think about public funding to a School that allows such tripe to go un punished.

A semester off WITH pay? That’s like punishing someone for food stamp abuse with a raised monthly allotment.

By Ken Braun | braun.ken@gmail.com

“Michigan State University writing professor William Penn has been removed from the classroom following release of a videotape revealing a soliloquy full of personal shots at Republicans in general, and Mitt and Ann Romney in particular, delivered as part of a mandatory course lecture. A little noticed but also revealing angle to this controversy is what he says at the start of the video as he is explaining the value of a university degree.

He is arguing $40,000 in tuition costs - roughly what an in-state undergraduate will fork over for four years at the school - should be paid by taxpayers rather than students. He cites evidence (source unidentified) that Michigan government gets $250,000 back in taxes during the working life of a graduate, which justifies the expense as an “investment” that should be fronted by the taxpayers.

White people that are too stupid to live. This guy is basically saying as a white person he has no right to live.

He is also stupid and ignorant, typical for a college professor these days. Democrats have used welfare to steal over $5 trillion to give to everyone else.
