Considering the fact that Obama’s first choice to replace Mubarak is now vice president of Egypt I’m not counting on much.

The acid test of democracy is not holding a more or less plausible election. The acid test is the peaceful relinquishing and transfer of power in accord with the people's expressed decisions in the next election. There is and has been no democracy in Egypt as yet and frankly the future doesn't look promising.
