Dogs in the Middle East connotes an image of desert jackals and wild dogs that would prey on flocks, consume the bodies of fallen soldiers, and disturb graves to get at bodies. They are roughly in the same class as pigs, unclean animals.

Speaking of which I've got two racks of dry rubbed St. Louis style ribs cooking at this very moment. If I was SE Asian (or President of the United States) that might be Rover or Rex out in the smoker.

Should mention I love dogs and we normally own two. But our Lab passed away last December and when our 13 year old Spaniel decides to join his buddy we’ll be looking for a puppy or two.
