Congrats to you both. You are getting out while the getting is still good.
I would not be surprised in the future, CA enacts an “Exit Tax” to those
leaving CA. Smooth sailing to your more.

Best wishes.. You were just a stat here anyway. a dwindling stat. ;-]

Another California Liberal Progre$$ive Movement (moving decent folks ‘out of state’) success story.

God Bless you! My daughter escaped to Texas from California last year and never looked back.

Congratulations. I made the leap 8 years ago and never looked back.. Although we do visit San Diego, hubby’s hometown, from time to time.

Texas is way different than California.

So when you get here don’t start missing stuff and want to change it here.

He works for Coca-Cola. The oil boom has made skyrocking real estate prices in many areas but he will be making a short commute to a more affordable city.

we stopped at a garage sale yesterday...they guy and his wife are retiring and moving to St. George Utah....he says he's a conservative Christian and just wants to be in a more solid area, even though where we live is pretty stable....

the theory is that many people will move when able to the kind of area that reflects their values...

then again, because those areas are peaceful and prosperous, the libs love to move there....they can't stand to live in the cesspools they have created...

Congratulations. We left the LIB hellhole of maryland for Utah last year. There is sanity beyond the LIB places. Free at last! Thank God, Free At Last!!! Best of luck to you all.

This is great news! Y’All will be so welcome here! West Texas is hot & pretty dry, but there are some beautiful places not so far away. Great people.
Have a safe & easy move, lilyramone & family.

I homeschool my kids. The creepy California LGBT schooling laws, new stupid “gender identity” rights and the other 1000 public school problems had us pull them out after my son was in Kindergarten for only 3 months. He is now an entire grade ahead of kids his age and Texas homeschool laws are GREAT! Parents have power over the state....what a novel idea huh? /sarc

If I am lucky, I will only be stuck here for a few more months. I plan on going a whole lot farther away than Texas, however. (tag line)

You are absolutely right. It happened to Colorado Springs in the mid-eighties.

I’m envious. We’ve been stuck in the hellhole of SoCal for a couple of years and I’ve been looking for every opportunity to get out and move back to America.

Everyone here tells me how wonderful San Diego is, but what’s so great about $500k stucco crap boxes, five cars in front of every house, paved front yards for more parking, beggars on every corner, same weather every day, exorbitant taxation and regulation, and so many arrogant, rude, childish, and selfish people?

I left Kansas a couple years ago and am now in West Texas as well, in Midland (Bush’s hometown). You heading to Odessa/Midland or Lubbock?

It’s great here except for things growing so fast due to the oil boom that traffic is getting tough (nothing like CA though).

The people are great. We are hoping to move back to the Midwest, either KC or Indianapolis, to get less hot weather and four seasons again.....and a less desert climate.

But, economically, there is NO BETTER place in the nation right now. And coming from CA you probably are used to dry weather anyway. Even if we move, I will have fond memories of here.

Definitely a good move for you guys.
