Thanks again, FRiend!

You bet. Yours is one of the best original articles I've seen on Free Republic in too long a time to count.

Thank you for giving voice to so many of our thoughts.

Maybe now is the time...

How 'bout we burn our Republican party voter registration cards instead? All across the country. Maybe that'll get the sell-outs in Washington to sit up and take notice.

Posted this earlier today on the big thread...

I have renewed hope with this and a couple other threads in the last couple days. I see many of the names I have argued with since the primaries coming around to our way of thinking and realizing that the lesser evil/win at any price crap is just that.

To be sure, there are some hardcore statist types determined to mock us, but, and I address this to anyone still reading this thread, they have nothing ‘but’ mockery.

The facts of history are what they are. One does not go right by moving left. Someone DID vote for unprincipled GOP politicians and got them elected. Those unprincipled GOP politicians DID stand idly by while DOMA was tanked. They DID vote with the dems on amnesty. They DID NOTHING to stop a gay takeover in the military.

And they HAVE DONE NOTHING to defund Obama’s destruction of America. Not one damn thing. If they did, then show it.

Now on a near 500 post thread with a wide cross section of the Freeper body politic participating, I want the lesser evil defenders to show us all exactly WHY we should go with that broken philosophy when the past month has CLEARLY and UNAMBIGUOUSLY shown the very real results of what comes from it.

We have here the seed of the actual ‘Rebellion” that Jim talks about actually sprouting. —For real.— We have people waking up to their past mistakes and saying “No More!”

And yet, and like clockwork, we have people demanding we get our collective tails back in the closet and back to the GOP plantation.

If all the new converts really and genuinely have had a come to Jesus moment over this, and I pray to God they have, I want people to stand up for what they believe in. I want them to stand up and reject our past mistakes and tell these GOP suckups to go straight to hell. If we collectively can’t do that, something that basic and simple to the issue, then I really do not see the point in even discussing the matter at all. We should all just drop politics entirely and do what we are told.

The facts of history are what they are. One does not go right by moving left.

Amen, brother.

Bottom line - you get what you vote for. Keep voting for stealth Democrats, and that's exactly what the political class will continue to serve up to us.

That's exactly what happened in the last two elections. In 2008, enough decent Americans surrendered their solemn votes to the traitorous cabal in the RNC, that they felt rewarded, and gave us more of the same in 2012.

The big brains in the RNC then performed an 'autopsy' to figure out why we lost again, and came to the conclusion that they'd better widen the 'tent' and double down on their leftward slide.

The morons can't see that they're driving their base away from the party. They're watching the Democrats win, and are drawing the wrong conclusion, i.e., that they're winning elections because of their political philosophy. That's only partially true. The Dems win elections because their candidates don't stray off the party reservation, and that's why their base overwhelmingly supports them.

It's never occurred to the dim bulbs running our party that if their candidates did the same as the opposition, that is, stand firmly on the principles their base endorses, that they'd win too.

I think many people just do not want to accept facts in evidence and so, get stuck in the denial stage of the 5 stages of (political) grief.

The GOP wants to go left. They WANT it.

If I was athe head of a group that I saw would WILLINGLY OR NOT, vore for whatever I fed them, I’d feed them whatever I wanted, confident that even though they may bitch, I’d still get my way.

Conservatives need to read the 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and The Prince by Machiavelli before casting another vote for anyone...READ AND UNDERSTAND.

Lastly, Freepers need to get off the sidelines and fight back ONLINE against the GOP shills, the mockery and the BS just as they do in real life because the internet IS real life. Things here translate to real world opinion....Lurkers, this means YOU.

I get that people do not want to get hit with the truckloads of horsesXit that people like you and I do for standing our ground. I get that. But they no longer have a choice. It’s pretty hard to be a patriot when you sit silently and allow the propagandists on web forums to direct the opinions of the country.

And for those that think what we say here is compartmentalized, ask Dan Rather what he thinks of Freeper ‘opinion’.

Yup, all their mailings go into the trash, until the Republican Party starts using the money they do get in ways that strongly differentiate them from the socialist infiltrated Democratic Party. They talk a good case in their letters and appeals for money and then wind up foolishly caving on those very issues with nothing gained.

The Republican Party does not consider Conservative activists to be part of it's base (at least, not currently). That's why they're not trying to make us happy.

Actually, they come over to me as regarding Conservative activists as a positive embarrasment.

Thanks for the ping.

I dunno. 3rd party is scary, but perhaps it’s the way. It worked in Canada, and might in the UK although I think it’s easier to pull off in a parliamentary system of government.

I don’t know what to do to be honest. I know I’m all over the place on this thread, but this is such a huge issue.

Indeed. They all campaign and fund raise with Conservative rhetoric, but it’s all just gas.

As soon as they get in office, with a few exceptions, they turn hard left and betray us and our country.

I may be throwing the baby out with the bath water, but ALL their junk mail goes into the bin unopened.

How to win elections?

Get more votes than the other guys.

A more important question:

How to win elections and have it matter:

Strictly vet your candidates on core non-negotiable principles, hold them perpetually accountable to those principles, and to We the People, then get more votes than the other guys.

Strictly vet your candidates on core non-negotiable principles

It's one thing to vet them and another to flaunt those principles when it only harms the inability to win elections.

This is one strategy of the left we have to imitate. They had a long term agenda going back a decade or more with issues like gun grabbing, gay marriage, etc., but kept a low profile on them until the timing was right. They did not allow them to be part of the national election debate and kept them under the radar because at the time do to otherwise was political suicide. They spent years preparing the groundwork and they struck at the right time. Look at how successful they have been.

We, on the other hand, do just the opposite. We force our candidates to take wildly unpopular very public positions on our core values. Then the candidate gets defined by them within those groups where they are unpopular (with a huge assist from the MSM) and bye, bye, to a significant percent of the vote for no good reason at all. We should not compromise, but should recognize the fact that in a war sometimes a frontal assault is suicidal.

And unfortunately, the Republican leadership is in the same boat.
