Kart, I think we mostly forget when we write on a prepper thread, it’s there for the whole world to read. How many Freeper lurkers are there who have benefitted from your prepper threads? How many around the world have benefitted from your prepper threads? Then, add up the naysayers, the uncouth, the bad language critics, and compare the numbers. The miserable malcontents amount to nothing when compared to those you help. Keep your eye on the goal and not the critics.
When you get verbally attacked, we will be here as soon as we are alerted. Much of the time, I see it when it happens and put on my iron armor really fast and run in. I normally carry my long machete with me that lops off the offending written words thrown at you. If I could be a moderator – ah, but that is just a dream – zot, zot, zot.

Ursula the VK has been appearing on Zot Threads for years; just in the last year or so, I’ve expanded her wardrobe and her arsenal.
Its really really simple. If you aren’t interested don’t come to these threads.
Fact is this is the first time in recorded history when it wasn’t commonplace for people to store food and other resources against lean times.
All the indications point to problems ahead. The only thing we don’t know is how bad they will be. I pray I’m wrong but am not willing to bet the lives of my children.

The real difference between preppers is how long we are prepping for and what we are expecting.
I’m sort of lucky, the odds are overwhelminglyt that I will have to deal with an earthquake and the subsequent societal disruption. There are those who expect society to collapse and intend to play a role in the complete reformation of America after she goes Road Warrior, to me that is beyond point of diminishing returns and not worth it, being ready for no water or power for a few weeks on the other hand is common sense and the question is merely the best and lowest cost way to do it and to convince others to do so.
I mean I *WANT* my lib neighbors, my gay neighbors, my neighbors who had the Obama lawn signs to ALSO prep.
Maybe some don’t feel that way, and would wax tumescent in watching them die of thirst or mob violence whilst saying “I told you so, see you in hell lib”.... not me; if they will have their stash of water, sanitation, food and first aid stuff together, and if they want to come out to the shooting range with me and/or learn how to reload, I’ve done more for presenting what I think of as the reality based viewpoint than getting in their face with condemnation
Acquiring metals is certainly not the *first* thing to do in preparedness, but they make sense as one of the subsequent steps.
One thing I've started doing lately is sending silver rounds to my son who is living on the other side of the country. I know he doesn't have room to store a lot of food, but he can store some rounds. I look at it as being "better than nothing".
Besides ... they're practically giving silver away these days!

I’m none too keen on the notion of arming my jailbird neighbor, should it come to that. He shoulda prepped by not being a three-time (caught) idiot, IMHO. But I’d fend off home invaders from there just ‘cause we don’t need that kinda crap in the neighborhood.
Thanks, my thinking is that if the jailbird neighbor has a few days worth of water and food, and even maybe some first aid stuff and knowledge of how to use it, a potential threat becomes a potential resource. And they just might start to buy into a bit more of a sense of community; let’s face it, prepping makes one feel a lot smarter and more responsible and empowered. :-)

And remember, Daniel’s 70th week has to begin on a sabbath year.
If you are referring to my post #4, I am referring to G_d the father, the first part of the Christian trinity , you know ... as in Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I use the expression G_d as I am of Jewish decent (second generation Christian) and wish not to offend our Jewish readers ... respect only.
