Reducing Sexual Harassment in the Military
Lawrence Journal World ^ | June 18, 2013 | Reasonmclucus

Any effort to reduce sexual harassment in the military needs to recognize that some men have never learned to adequately control their sex drives. Unfortunately, the military may need many of these men for their military related skills. Winning wars requires using men, and women, who don't always play well with others. Thus, the military may need to find a way to reduce sex assaults while keeping those who have trouble controlling their zippers.

The military has some experience in this area because of personnel who occasionally "forget" who they are supposed to fight and who they are not supposed to fight. 99% of the time these men are valuable soldiers, sailors, etc. The military needs people who are willing to fight, but it needs to discourage assaults against other American military personnel by punishing their misconduct..

At one point I was considering suggesting that sex assault cases be turned over to the civilian court system. Then I remembered that the civilian justice system is so ineffective in this area that many women feel reporting sexual assaults is a waste of time. Conviction in civil courts requires proof beyond a reasonable doubt and many cases are just he said - she said with no actual other evidence to support the claim of rape..

The military may actually have a superior ability to handle these cases because it has alternative ways to deal with rule breakers. When I was in Vietnam we had a man from New York City assigned to our post office who had gotten lucky and arrived at a time when we needed a "warm body" to perform miscellaneous duties. He had never driven any kind of vehicle, so of course the army made him a truck driver. Shortly before I left Vietnam he was caught smoking pot. Instead of sending him to Long Binh Jail, the army simply reassigned him to an infantry company.

The civilian courts only options for punishment are probation, imprisonment or fines. The military can reassign someone to another unit, reduce an individual's rank or make it harder for him to get future promotions. The military could have some male only units that men who can't control their zippers could be reassigned to.

The military should change the way investigations are handled. Male officers have been having problems maintaining a proper relationship with those who claim to have been assaulted. The military could eliminate this problem by having female officers investigate assaults against female personnel.

The military can limit sexual stimulation by providing men and women with separate living areas. If men and women cannot be assigned to separate buildings some type of partition, even if its only some type of tarps or blankets should separate the male and female areas. If it isn't practical to provide separate showers for men and women, men and women should use the facilities at different times.. Physical training should be sexually segregated because seeing women exercise can arouse men even if the women are fully clothed and aren't using poles or other props.

Members of the "oldest profession" have long operated near military bases and followed military units around. Some feel that the term "hooker" comes from the women who provided their services to those under the command of MG Joseph Hooker during the Civil War. The military should consider allowing such women to operate their businesses on American bases. Those operating on bases in Muslim countries would have to be particularly discrete. The military might even consider establishing a "sex therapist" duty assignment.

Religious groups might complain. but providing a sexual outlet to those in high stress military assignments would be preferable to having some men attempt to force their attentions on women who aren't interested in them.

Here’s what I found when I went to kathsua’s homepage and clicked ‘In Forum’: kathsua only posts articles, she doesn’t entertain questions. Seriously, look at how many of her posts are ‘1 of XX’ (pretty much all of them).

Of the 26,000 reported sexual assaults in 2012, 14,000 were MALE ON MALE.

This is the sole cause of the recent spike.

Also, women who claim to have been sexually assaulted (whether it happened or not) will be granted "PTSD" disability status and a lifetime of monthly checks from the VA. Massive motive exists for fraudulent accusations. Civilianizing courtmartials over this will do nothing but help Obama continue his purge of Christian patriots from the military, and put their futures in the hands of hand picked feminist judges.

I personally know a girl who did this. She just finished a bachelor's degree on taxpayer dime under "vocational rehab" through the VA.

If during IGs, commanders are found to be not enforcing the law, these commanders than could be relieved of command and subject to punishment under the UCMJ.

There are already numerous mechanisms available to any member of the military to bring command negligence and abuse to light. The fact is that the Obamites and their legion of homofeminazis are hell bent on stripping authority away from those placed in command and placing it in the hands of lawyers and administrators more concerned with pushing a social engineering agenda than maintaining unit cohesion and combat readiness.

This whole issue over sexual assaults against women in the military is a huge smoke screen to further erode our military, along with allowing females to serve in combat arms and special operations roles.

The assumption in all of these stories is that sexual harassment is completely male on female. What about male on male, or female on female, even female on male. Note that the rise in reported incidents of sexual harassment is coincident with the demise of “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”. Many homosexuals are sexual predators and they have just been turned loose in the candy store.

I wonder what the public reaction would be to allowing prostitutes on military bases.

Yeah, there's a great plan. If you allow prostitutes on base, you're encouraging drug use and STDs. There's no way around that.

I'll give you props for hitting all the stereotypes here. In my military experience (which you obviously have none), the wives and girlfriends back home screw around A LOT more than the guys do.

How do you live with yourself?

No one has offered the slightest hint of proof that sexual harassment or assault is worse in the military than in the outside world.

Here's an article I posted from American Thinker written by a Marine Infantry Officer last month that addresses that and he contends it's much less in the military.

There is a very simple way to deal with this issue.

No sex between active duty military members, whatever their sex, gender, self-perception, or other flavor of the week. Make sex between members a criminal offense, as the military already does with adultery. It should be a felony in peacetime, like adultery, but a very serious felony during wartime or a deployment in a combat zone.

No need for touchy-feely classes on what this or that sex or gender might consider an offensive proposition, no specially trained investigators needed either.

Ban sex in military and lock up everyone engaged in it. Military already married to military members might have to be “grand-fathered” as offensive as that term might be to some. But no more marriages should be allowed between military members after a certain date.

See how easy it is to solve the problem? Warriors don’t have sex with each other! Real simple.

Homosexuals are far more promiscuous then non-homosexuals. That is why sodomy is encouraged now in our military (Vice is now promoted through our “Justice” system)-—to destroy us from within. Marxists are in charge.

These immoral militaries will kill and mutilate and torture their own citizens including women and children-—since they dehumanize themselves regularly and others continually.....they have no moral compass and reduce man to fecal material.

All brutal, immoral militaries were homosexual—from the Spartans/Samurai/Nazi Brownshirts/Bolsheviks, etc

There should be females in the military-—but only as they were allowed in WWII. Women are not interchangeable with men—never. Our Constitution is based on the Laws of Nature which claims women and men are different and can not be treated the same.

Same with Vice. Strict guidelines need to be enforced which discourages all Vice-—especially sodomy. Otherwise, we will end up with a Brownshirt military.

Yes, I agree. Obama and his ilk hate the traditional military.
They want to destroy its current culture and institutional leanings and replace it with something along the lines of a left-wing, politicized military like that of Cuba or Venezuela. Their motives are plain to see. It disgusts me to no end. We must oppose their efforts with every once of strength that we have. We will get no assistance from the weak-kneed, group of lawyers who now compose most of the Republican party.

So what happened to the American men? Yes, it’s our fault (referring to the American men). Now men are second class citizens in this country. Women wants to fight? Allow them to pick up the slack. And see what happens.

One logical way to reduce sexual harassment is to ban Homosexuals. Another is to ban women who are not emotionaly equipted to suffer war. The fact that sexual harassment has greatly increased since bringing women into the Military in front line positions and doubled since bringing in sexual perverts is also telling.

But that would be logical.

Does your ban include “self-sex”?

It was my personal experience with a mixed-gender crew on a DDG that the young women were ten times worse than the men. My peers on other ships validated that assessment.

There were massive purges of men in the last few decades as the government and law crushed men, even male colleges and famous male bars were broken, in the military and industry, and the corporate world, careers by the countless thousands were destroyed as all this was being forced on us.

After Tailhook, the powers put a hold on promotions of about 4,500 Navy and Marine Corps officers. Tailhook terminated or damaged the careers of fourteen admirals and almost 300 naval aviators.

During the last 40 years the left has proved ruthless in crushing the lives of those who stand in the way of these changes, and the first 20 years were the most brutal and costly

Everybody here is missing the problem.

What is being bureaucratically hidden is that MOST sexual assualts being reported now are homosexual assaults, male upon male. (14000 to 12000 reported this last year)

Simply reporting the statistic is now considered to be discriminatory against homosexuals and a career ender.

The services have from late May till 1July to retrain all sexual assault prevention and response personnel. Since EVERYBODY in DoD is technically involved in the prevention and response, now EVERYBODY has to take mandatory training,..just before the furloughs go into effect.

Apparently right after Hagal entered DoD, Congress began floating around at least 10 bills to respond to the flood of homosexual assaults, by PC reference as an upswing in ‘sexual assaults’. It now is the case that investigation and prosecution of all sexual assault cases/reporting is now ONLY allowed by federal authorities. UCMJ authority has been removed from commanding officers regarding sexual assault.

In other words, we have rampant homosexual campaigns ongoing to attack individuals, and the commands are no longer authorized to defend the rights of those attacked, but instead its being given to homosexuals placed within the federal law enforcement arena.

This attack on the inside of the US military is purely an Obama Administration operation.
